My friends and I went to Highline for a Saturday lunch and we were extremely disappointed and left in disgust. The lunch menu offers an appetizer and entree for under $10, which is a seemingly good deal. The appetizers were average, decently portioned, but nothing to brag about. Highline lost me at the entree. Pad thai is one of my all time favorite dishes, but this one left me in utter disgust and was almost inedible. One of my friends, even compared the smell of the pad thai to vomit, while another compared it to wet dog. The majority of my friends left the restaurant with our plates seemingly untouched. Ultimately, the hip, modern ambiance doesn't make up for the worst thai food I've ever had. If you're looking for excellent thai food at the same price that is guaranteed to satisfy, head over to Spice.

I had my birthday dinner there with a few of my friends. We ordered off the pre-fix menu.. We waited 40 minutes for our food, the service was terrible, the portions for 13 peoples were very small and not enough, we had to ask to add more and that took an additional 40 minutes. Afterwards we went downstairs to the Pool Lounge to dance.. the music was the worst I've ever heard.. It was so bad we started laughing. The bouncer was ridiculously rude and ruined our moods. Overall, I had an awful experience and had a terrible birthday dinner.

I was in New York about a month ago and got the pleasure of visiting this resaurant. The freind that I was staying with took my boyfriend and me for a birthday celbration for a friend of his. My boyfriend and I are culinary students where we live and were absolutely blown away by the excellant food here. Everything we had from appetizer to desert was by far the best food we ate while in the city. Stand-out dishes were the Pad Thai Egg Rolls, the Lemongrass NY Strip and ALL of the desserts. I can't wait to visit New York again to be able to have the pleasure of dining here again.

Highly recommended are the pad thai spring rolls and the asian style fried calamari for qppetizers. The salmon with curry sauce is also delicious. The decor is mix mod and contemporary. The prices are quite affordable which is a great gem in the meatpacking district.

Highline was totally fabulous! Talk about breakfast in bed. They serve you breakfast in bed with Style with a capital "S!" We had a complete meal for two with drinks which came to a total of $34.74, less than $40.00. What we ate: I had the Strip Steak and lemongrass-cumin mole with sweet potatoes and walnut vinaigrette. Talk about scrumptuous, this steak, which was cooked medium rare, was tender, juicy and spicy with thai flavorings. My guest enjoyed a sumptuous meal called Stuffed Rice Towel which consisted of, a large rice noodle stuffed with Basiled Calamari, Shrimp, and Grilled Asparagus. The whole thing really looked like a large stuffed towel, lol. The food was great! Afterwards we shared the Pad Thai Spring Rolls with tamarind crust, which came with 4 (count'em 4!) dipping sauces. Everybody was friendly, the atmosphere was divine, and it was hard to find fault with the food, which was presented in the most beautiful way. The whole place has a Mod-Squad, 70's type of decor with afro-wearing murals and everythang, lol Highline is located at: 835 Washington St, bet. Little W.12th and 13th Street, NYC great food and value Beds and Waterfalls (yep, the place had waterfalls) Wonderful!! Unbelievable!! Loved It!!

The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is inventive and creative. Presentation is excellent, the strip steak is excellent, the Pad Thai is the BEST I have had so far. There was a tiny piece of metal mesh in my main course, but the management was quick to respond, apologetic adn attended to the matter very professionally.
