I love hookah and in the States it is hard to find a place like the ones overseas. Horus is the place in the states with the best hookah. They have their own mixes and the hookahs seem to last all night. If you don't smoke, you are not at a loss at all because Horus offers so much more just beware on the weekends: if you want a chill evening just go earlier in the night.

I recently walked into Horus on a whim. I was driving around looking for the Williamsburg Bridge and saw a line of people. I was curious so I pulled over and asked what the place was about. Seemed pretty cool and the menu looked delicious and they were still serving food late at night. Went in… and for a “café”, the crowd was pretty live. People were dancing, eating, drinking, and smoking hookah. Even though, we waited on the line for quite a while to get in it was way worth it. I guess next time we go, we will make a reservation. But the waitress we had was super attentive and after a massive bill gave us a round on her, not to mention we had fresh fruit hookahs that didn’t seem to end.

I get and understand how the service might deter people from patronizing an establishment. However, my experience has never led me to such a review of Horus. I have only been treated with the utmost respect and, if anything, prodded over to make sure everything was good. I really have no other intention in this review than to come to the defense of such a great place. Think about all of the places people go (clubs) where the bartenders are rude and the doormen suck, yet we still go and buy bottles blah blah blah. I have no problem going to a place where I can eat, dance, and smoke with the best of New Yorkers and the those from overseas. Horus, keep being good to me.

Apparently theres new owners and the law of the land is a $30 minimum...per person. They have the cheapest (quality, not price) liquor which made my drink taste absoutely disgusting (they use Korean vodka...? Since when does that exist?), rude staff, and a terrible DJ. I asked for a margarita and they didn't have tequila and then they also didn't have like most of the beers they claim to have...and they expect people to agree to a $30 minimum per person. And apparently if you leave for some fresh air (its a cloud of smoke in there obviously) and walk back in, you're an entirely new person that needs to be charged again. They tried to double my friends bill on her birthday because a few of her friends stepped out to breathe oxygen and not hookah smoke. The waitress and the bouncer even stood in front of the door until they physically counted the money themselves. It was a freakin disaster. The place is pretty nice looking, but it was just soooo not what I expected. I wouldn't go back there even if I was paid, which would actually help since its so freakin expensive.

We were walking around East Village this one time and we end up having dinner at this egypitan/morrocan place and the food was really good. Horus has one of the best mediterranean and North African food. We had the Hummus, the couscous and the kebab. Everything was testy and delicious. The serice was really good too, very attentive. The belly dancer rocked the house. She was really good. I'm glad i found about horus even tho it was so random. P.S they also have hookahs and drinks.

Horus has one of the best hookah in NYC. I went there a couple of times when i went to NYC to visit a friend. I would just move to New York just for horus's hookah. They had over 40 flavors and like 3 different types of hookahs. It was very smooth and smokey. I'm a hookah lover and i have been to many hookah places and i would say Horus had the best one. I suggest sex on the beach or the one that comes with pineapple ;)

Me and my friends go to Horus every weekend fridays and saturday and we loveeee it. The hookah, the food, the drink, the service, the music, the people, the atomsphere everyhing about this place is great. We always have fun in Horus. The only one thing i would suggest is if you are planning to go with a lot of people its better if you make a reservation. Keep it up horus!!!!

I had my 22nd birthday in horus and it was wonderful. I had reserved a table for 20ppl and by the time we got there it was all set we didn't have to wait outside. we started with diinner and then we had drinks and hookah. We danced the whole night, the dj was really good he played every type of music house, hip-hop, rnb,arabic.......Everybody had fun. They even have a birthday cake with candel and a birthday song. Well this is my experience in Horus.

the waitress made a night at a very average establishment into a miserable experience. the heavy set, unattractive brunette waitress was rude and made my girlfriend and I feel uncomfortable. we were kicked out after 45 min and $50 because the outside was closing. however, when we were seated, we were told that we could move inside when the outside closed. She also took our plates without asking when there was a substantial amount of food left. there are plenty of hookah bars in nyc. I will not waste my money and my night out on horus cafe again.

I had to post a review to worn people about this place! So, I have reservations for 15 people for a saturday night(for my birthday!) I called a few days prior to confirm the number, and everything seemed ok. Once my guests arrive, they are told at the door that there is NO such reservations and that they can not go in! Once I get there, super upset... I speak to a guy at the door(who I spoke to over the phone) He apologize for the "no reservations" and said he will take care of it, mean while we have to wait outside(in the cold!me wearing a little dress!) the manager comes out with the same story, and claims he will take "care" of us that that I should not be upset! we stood by the bar for 1hour and 10min( yes, you read correct! looking around us, there was NO TABLE. we asked again, he said another 30min(and NOT 100% !) After all this wait, we had to go to another restaurant!I have NEVER experienced this kind of service. How can you EVER trust that you have a reservations to this place?
