We had a wonderful dinner at Hospoda. The food was excellent--very much reminiscent of Czech food, but with a great modern twist--and the service was impeccable. Every course was perfect and the waiters and barman were attentive, but not overbearing. We also loved the ambiance (it wasn't too loud, which kills so many trendy restaurants) and we will definitely be coming back!

Reality Czech

My Czech wife has been watching Hospoda with keen interest since its pre-opening embryonic phase and hoping that since the restaurant is located at street level of the Bohemian National Hall/Czech Cultural Center it would not embarrass the motherland. Her anxiety of possible national humiliation was put way aside based on tonight's meal: Superb food, in an elegant and beautiful setting, with professional and friendly service. The steak tartare amuse bouche was phenomenal. So tasty, fresh and hearty. I also loved the super-fresh rye bread slathered with farmers/cottage cheese and topped with chopped radish. The salad was one of the freshest and best mix of vegetables, dressing and fruit I've ever experienced. The Prague Ham with horseradish foam is delicate while at the same time grew some hair on my chest. The smoked tongue with sweet pea sauce was delicious. And to cap all this off was one of the best desserts I've ever eaten: Caraway meringue in smoked cow's cheese. The cheese is a liquid--almost like a fondue, and is salty, smokey and creamy. Add to that the lightly sweet meringue and you have bliss. I went back a second time recently and their dessert menu had changed to include fruit dumplings in vanilla creme sauce (phenomenal) and a chocolate ganache that will have you dreaming for weeks about going back. Hospoda is a gorgeous room, perfectly lit. Highly recommended!

Food, service, ambiance was outstanding. Enjoyed the Pilsner tasting! Very unique dining experience.
