The service is very good along with the food. We had pumpkin ravioli with walnut sauce, veal scallopini and shared the cassata cake. GET THE CASSATA CAKE! It was the best.

I lived in Italy for many years and have high expectations of what my Italian food tastes like, and Gattopardo exceeds expectations on every level. Every bite, from the fresh mozzarella to the homemade pasta to the most amazing mascarpone semifreddo (this has become my favorite dessert ever), melts in your mouth. Plus, the service is excellent--everyone is really warm and attentive.

Located into the the ground floor of a townhouse, just simple and elegant. and serve comfort food, but with an upscale twist that makes them contemporary and home-cooking. The cabbage-wrapped meatballs are light, juicy and rich. Don't leave Il Gattopardo without tasting them. Parmigiana of zucchini is so simple but so tasty, with the smoky provola. And the Baccala' with black olives and potatoes in a fresh and rich tomato sauce. The all Italian extensive wine list has great choices under $ 50 Very professional waiter can help with menu and wine list

I've been there several times, for business lunches and family affairs, and it is a real Italian gem in Manhattan. The atmosphere has an elegant simplicity difficult to find now-days, the authentic Southern Italian food is done with heart using the best ingredients, and the service is superb. I could not recommend more! As a plus, they have a great indoor garden that makes you really feel at home, and the wine list is done with knowledge and it offers great Italian pleasures at a reasonable prices. I highly recommend the fish of the day, ask for the specials, and the great selections of homemade pastas.

The leopard may have spots ( gatto pardo) but its more like the emperor has no clothes. The (famous?) meatballs were served with no sauce- no pepper offered- just bland. The frisee salad was bitter, limp and lacking interest-dressing was pedestrian. The risotto was served white on white-and watch out...the shaved truffles on top are a secret sum of $120! Service was poor, waited 10 minutes to order a glass of wine,waiter first comes back with a menu-I say -please come back in 2 minutes-he disappears for another 10. ( Granted it was a Saturday- pre-theater packed)The whole fish was shown beautifully, and returned filleted- but again - a wallflower. If you did want a grind of pepper- forget it- the staff was not scanning for eye contact.There was zero , no make that negative incentive to stay for a dessert. Really great menu but the reality- a regrettable meal.Oh, do you like weaving through a neutral train car with angled mirrors?{the space}

The food was good, not great. The service was poor. Plates on the table were not cleared! Servers did not know who ordered food so dishes were placed at wrong person consistantly. All mixed drinks were $14.00 each including bottle beer. There was no bar. Drinks were made in the kitchen and not with much alcohol. On line the menu looked reasonable. Party of 4 cost over $600.00. HELLO!!!! I could have gone anywhere in the city for this price and we only had 3 cocktails each wihout ordering any bottles of wine. The alcohol prices made this place a RIP OFF

My husband and I took our three girls and au pair to see a broadway show and wanted to find a nice restaurant to eat at afterward. We were looking for a highly rated restaurant that was family friendly and walking distance from theatre district. My eldest daughter and I found this restaurant on the internet and it turned out to be perfect! The food was amazing, from appetizers to dessert. There were great dishes for the children including the homemade spagetti and meatballs. The minestrone soup was the best my kids ever tasted. Then there was more interesting choices for my husband and I, like the veal and beef meatballs wrapped in cabbage. The service was a 10 as well. Our waiter was extremely familiar with the menu and he was pleasant and very helpful. Dinner at Il Gattopardo was a perfect ending to a wonderful day out with my family.

The Leopard is a a class Italian directly across the street from the MOMA's 54th street entrance. Inside the simple white washed dinninf room has a style that epitomizes an European class and elegance. The food and service is top notched. Overall a very very good choice.

I love this place FOOD: not just your regular Italian eatery, more upscale, yet you can dress casual, the menu is superb and my goal is to try everthing on it before the end of the year. WINE: All the wines are Italian, smooooooooth and excellent. DESSERT: OH LA LA, the best. They have this small chocolate souffle like dessert, with chocolate sauce hidden inside and a scoop of Haagen Das........MEOW SERVICE: You dont have to be KNOWN to go there, the staff of Manager (Valentino) welcome anyone with open arms and often stand outside to greet everyone in..... Just pure enjoyment, A++++ staff, smiles everywhere, you can tell the whole staff loves to work there, and the service WOW, not only do you get your waiter but everyone in Il Gattopardo wants to help, and be there for you, no matter what you need. DID I say that the food ROCKS! It used to be a once a month thing now I go once a WEEK!!!! I loved it! ASK for VALENTINO!!!!
