Wonderful food, interesting wines, and caring service. The menu is always changing so you will never be bored.

I've been going to Inside ever since they first opened and while it has occasionally been uneven I keep going back for the relaxed atmosphere, good service, reasonable prices and food that is always at least good and occasionally approaches greatness. The Newport Steak may be the best steak value in Manhattan at $21 but the pastas and seafood are also reliably good. I've had mixed results with fried dishes and roast chicken (sometimes excellent, sometimes disappointing). Get the almond butter cake or walnut butter cake for dessert. Yum! Small but interesting wine list.

I actually think this is the best restaurant in NYC (my other faves are Mary's Fish Camp, Wallse, Bouley, Public, Peasant, Viet-Cafe (not listed yet), and Cafe Asean). I also like Cafe Rosso (if you know what to order), Florent (breakfast), Thomas Beisl (with friends), Village (cool cuts), and Chez Michallet (quiet night). But Inside, for consistency, brilliance, and variety (so many events!) is just wonderful. Its all about the food. Keep it up guys - perfection, I love to return to, time and again. (BTW ... restaurants I loathe - WD-50 (snotty), Prune (do you wanna another drink, do ya, do ya, do ya??). Please NYC, please, more "Inside"-like restaurants

Comfy and relaxed is what you will feel when you dine "Inside." Great to bring kids or to do brunches with its airy atmosphere and friendly wait staff. You'll definitely be filled up with their simple but satisfying American fare but fortunately, your wallet won't.

Simple, well prepared, and great food. A really nice neighborhood place, that feels very comfortable, with really nice service too.

Simple menu, very moderately priced. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The food spoke for itself. With so few ingredients, the flavors were so pure and just damn tasty. Only downside is how teensy tiny it is.
