This was an all-around great experience. I went with a date at around 10 on a Saturday night, and they had one table open (the place was filled with people lingering over their desserts until well past 11). Our server forgot to give us bread plates but was otherwise very cordial. I had foie gras over cubed sweet potato (delicious), steak frites (very nicely seasoned and grilled), creme brulee (delicious!), and a bottle of pinot noir. All the food was excellent, the atmosphere is somewhat noisy for a small place but very romantic and laid-back. The prices are a little high, but nothing out of the ordinary for a quality Manhattan bistro. I would go back here in a heartbeat.

The whole staff makes the difference: From owner to waitress, everybody speaks fluent French. For about 2h, we were not in a trendy Soho restaurant (which it is), but in a nice average bistro one can find on every other block at the center of most French towns. It's a bit of a trip. Food was impecable. Don't forget to bring cash (no credit cards).

My husband and I had wandered past this restaurant a couple of times and finally decided to go in on Thanksgiving weekend. We were certainly glad we did. This is a great little restaurant, a true French gem with equal parts excellent food, great atmosphere and down-to-earth service. I had the snapper with artichoke hearts and my husband had the duck -- both were delicious. The scallop and beet appetizer was very pleasing and the tiramisu dessert was a true confection. All in all, a wonderful experience!
