Real Southern atmosphere to the point that they do not bother with a/c (though they said it was on) so that you get the hot steamy southern air. It was actually cooler outside.. Only one waitress (Blue) working while I was there who was very good but overworked. As such the meal was at a slow southern place. The food was very good but the portions were small and overpriced for the size. I got 2 small lamb chops while my girlfriend got at most a 4 oz portion of salmon. I left 2 hours later still hungry. I had heard very good things about this place from people that went a few years ago but it seems that they have decided to turn into a tourist place as they are right by the theater district.

The food was fairly decent, however the service was deplorable. The attitude of the hostess (owner) left a bad taste in my mouth. The decor was somewhat overwhelming and the seating arrangements were not well thought out.

What an experience!! Too wonderful for words. The decor, the ambiance and most of all the food. I had the Southern Fried Chicken with collard greens, grits and blackeyed peas (got an extra side because I couldn't decide which of the 3 I wanted) and it was excellent. The only negative - the decaf coffee was the worst I ever tasted, but a small price to pay for the "perfect" meal.
