talk about a whole lotta bull ....
By dannb84 on 1/24/2008
So i make a reservation for 830 monday night , get there on time and was told that the "event "starts at 10 - obviously thinking the bull riding is the event as noted on the site for monday nights. At 945 Iam told they need to move our seat to accommodate this event and subsequently told it is Not the bullriding because the Bull is broken- Good Job on that one guys Maybe try to post it up on the website or possibly notify the guy bringing his date to the place for a fun time – not cool- .. and you’re a bit over priced for the quality of food
Johnny Utah's is top notch!!!!

This place is just an old fashion good time! The food is great, the people are great and the service was amazing. I've been here a few times and i've never had anything bad to say about the place. If you are looking for some good southwestern food, bull riding and some rock and roll music then Johnny Utah's is your place!!!
JU's......I love it!!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
By LaurenE33 on 10/13/2008
HORRIBLE!!!! When we arrived the hostesses were cold and informed us that even though we'd made a reservation, they "needed the table back in an hour." I'm sorry, what?!?! THEN they sat us at the worst table in the restaurant and NO ONE came to our table for over ten minutes. We walked out. It was supposed to be a romantic dinner and it was ruined. The staff is rude, and not worth it. This place is AWFUL and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Great, if a little expensive...

Brilliant atmosphere and the addition of a bronco makes for a real laugh, be it getting on or just watching. My one gripe was that the beer was a bit expensive, but I guess that comes with the location. Overall really good fun though!

i waited over 40 minutes to get a drink at the bar only to be ignored FIVE times by both bartenders. they saw me wave at them five times as they went up and down the bar! one of the bartenders told me "i cant serve you" and then went on to the WHITE person standing next to me. my other asian friend was standing at the opposite end of the bar and she was having the same problem too!! so luckily we came with a white friend who went up to the bar, stood where I was standing, and she ordered our drinks in 10 minutes!!!! WHAT THE HELL. DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR.. THEY ARE RACISTS HERE.
WE HAD FUN THERE!!

My friend and I went there on our vacation in spring 2008. We had no reservation, still got a table immediately with the best view to the mechanical bull and had fun watching the people riding it! The service was really good, also the food. It was a bit loud in there and a bit cold (too much air condition), but the next time we will visit NYC again, we will definitely go to Johny Utah's again!
BIG management problem!

Had a reservation for 4 but wasn't sure if/when the 4th person was going to make it so accepted a table for 3 to be able to sit down (I'm 7 months pregnant so standing at the bar waiting for the 4th person to arrive which is what a hostess suggested us doing wasn't exactly working). Needless to say when the 4th person arrived 10 mins later it was a HUGE problem. When I asked the hostess for a bigger table she started YELLING at me saying she told me she would give away our table for 4 and she did and she doesn’t have anything to offer me. Never ever in my life I've seen such nastiness from a person who is supposed to welcome you to a place (at least that's what I thought hostesses do). She made it impossible for us to stay so we had to LEAVE the place before finishing our appetizers. She's an Asian looking girl and we heard other staff calling her Sasha. I have to say when I mentioned this story to people in my office (we’re located in Rock center so plenty of people go to Johnny Utah) it turned out she's quite famous and not in a good way! It seems like she is always nasty and rude to clients. It's a systematic problem which management ignores because they have enough foot traffic anyway. Don’t ruin your night by going to Johnny Utah. You've been warned!
WORST SERVICE EVER

I had a terrible time I called for a party package, I reserved a party package for $250. Once I got there i find you get garbage liquor that WILL GET YOU SICK, to top it off the so called hostess didn't even know the names of the liquor. In debating whether to up grade the package they gave our table away. The hostess didnt want to get the manager. I found him my self up graded to the premium $450, shortly after i get a bill for $540 a $90 dollar tip..lol I refused to pay a $90 tip and was asked to leave. Three days later, they charged $540 for serves NOT RENDERED!!!!! What a SCAM!!!!!
