Keep it simple.

This place has been around forever, but the pizza is still absolutely top notch. Simple, coal-fired oven pizza made with great ingredients that is absolutely delicious. The wait can be a bit long, but it's worth it. I would probably classify this as one of, if not the best traditional pizzerias left in Manhattan. I find it best to keep it simple here for best results. Their margherita is absolutely amazing and I've had great luck with pies with one or _maybe_ two toppings. Anything more than that and you start to detract from the greatness. http://flic.kr/p/apK8k9

We have been going here since the early 80s. Last time we were there the line was out the door, but there were empty tables inside. Once we got in, I went to the restroom which is right next to the kitchen and there was a nice big roach crawling on the wall right next to the sink! Yuckkk!
The Best Pizza Ever

This is a place I would call a dive. I mean that in the best way. I ate at John's Pizzeria in the 80's when I lived around the corner at least twice a week. It hasn't changed in 20 years. Now when I visit NYC it's always first on my list of favorite places to eat.
