Joya has it all - fantastic food, a great vibe and supercheap! The vegetable spring rolls are my favorite appetizer and I love the curry chicken for an entree. Everytime I go, I am always so happy when I get the bill. You can go out and have an amazing meal and not feel guilty about it!

Yeah I know, "cheap" has no "T", but I like faux alliteration.. Joya is one of our favorite haunts in Brooklyn. Since visiting there on the recommendation of a friend we have been diehard fans. Like every restaurant everywhere it has a rough edge if you look hard enough but we never look. We're too busy enjoying delectable, affordable Thai cuisine whilest slipping into a cocktail coma from the superbly strong spirits. Eclectic and chill DJ on the weekend, a great patio in the fairer months, and delicious food has been the norm. Pad See Yue, Masaman Curry, Pak Kratiam, Spring Rolls, Calamari, Pad Thai – everything we've tried has been delightful. And cheap, good heavens it's cheap. We stumbled in there on the recommendation of a friend after moving to New York and have been going back ever since.

This is the spot - the perfect spot for anything (maybe not a romantic dinner). You've got a large group for dinner...you may have to wait a while and get drunk at the bar, but it's great. The food is great to share, everything is delicious and it's not too expensive. Spicy noodle with chicken is a must have. BBQ wings with sauce on the side is amazing too.Their specials are normally recycled, but they're wonderful as well. The papaya salad is very refreshing and filling in the summertime. The waitstaff has been there forever and they're great. Summertimes in the backyard are loads of fun. And now that they're open for lunch - OH MY, can you say delivery!!! The biggest drawback is the wait - which isn't a drawback if you're not starving or in a rush cause I have met so many wonderful people while waiting on a table at the bar.

Joya is a place I eat at very, very frequently. The food (Thai) is wonderful, yet inexpensive. The drinks and atmosphere give the restaurant a fun bend. And the service is always friendly. For me, it is the perfect casual dining experience. The only drawback is the wait. Try going on a weeknight or at an early hour to avoid crowds. And in the summer, try the patio.

The question that I would ask the owners of Joya is. "Do I look like a hamster" No? Then why did you try to feed me a salt lick. It's a shame just how bad it was. The wine was nice the service was quick. The Calamari appetizer was nicely fried; but holy cow the Curry was salty. The sodium snuck up on me, the first bite was tasty. There was a nice bite to the vegetables. The chicken was fresh and abundant. But sweet jesus on the cross was that food salty. Fortunatly I had a gallon of water intravenously administered to me as I ate. My Fiancé and I had to rush through the meal, before our sodium blood levels became toxic. The only thing that saved me was the ice cream that I bought at a bodega on the way home. Best Wishes, The Vanderhensons

What can I say...I keep going back everytime I get the chance. The mood is young and vibrant, the food is delicious and inexpensive, the drinks are great, there's a live DJ, and local artist exhibitions. I love it!
