Good but nothing special

The waiter was attentive but was really a kid and not very sophisticated. Food is decent and a good value but really nothing special. Dessert was probably the best course. It's a nice space. There's something that feels a bit assembly line about the experience, like the kitchen just cranks out the same kind of thing all the time. Not a lot of creativity.

Aureole is fantastic but not for everyday dining. Kitchen 22 is a gift to every New Yorker who enjoys fine food dining but can't shell our $100 every night. You will not be disappointed with Kitchen 22. By far the best deal in town.

Come on Charlie, it's only pasta!

What a shame. Such a beautiful restaurant, so little food. The appetizers and desserts are delicious and properly sized, which is a good thing... cause you'd starve in Kitchen 22 given the portions of the entrees. I'm 5'2" and 110 lbs. and even I was hungry after my entree, not to mention my husband. The pasta dish sounds wonderful, rigatoni with goat cheese. What you can't imagine is that you will be served 5, yes FIVE rigatoni stuffed with a bit of cheese. Come on Charlie, can you spare it? It's only pasta! All of the entrees coming out of the kitchen were tiny. Too bad I felt so ripped off. I would have loved to have returned!

What more could you want for $25?

One of the most amazing deals in all of NYC. A Charlie Palmer meal for 25 bucks! The selections even have some curious complexities that take the meal beyond standard fare. The speed with which we were served was slightly unnerving. I got the impression that they had lots of food already plated in the back and they just heat it up when they bring it out to you. Service was great, though, and the staff definitely makes helpful recommendations.

Didn't think you'd ever hear Charlie Palmer and $25 pre-fix in the same sentence? Well Kitchen 22 is full of surprises. The food is up to Palmer's exquisite standards, and I almost felt guilty for such a low bill. Almost. The restaurant is very small and they don't take reservations, but just relax at the bar while you wait and get to spoil yourself and afford it!

I went to the restaurant on Saturday at about 9 with 2 friends. Since the bar wasn't crowded we decided to eat there. I love eating at bars. From the on set both bartenders were rude and none attentive. Maybe they were upset it wasn't crowded. When ordering wine we were told to "point to it" rudely. We ordered 4 pre fixe for the 3 of us in order to taste as much as possible. All dishes were winners except for a pasta that was overly salted. There was no mention of specials. For dessert they just brought us out a sampling of everything they have. The 3 wines we drank were superb. Great value, great food. Looking to try the dining area, maybe the attitude is better.

Pixe Fix Means Get'em In & Out

No reservations requires maximum wait while standing along a narrow bar getting knocked and bumped until your table is ready. Although the Prix Fix menu is a good deal and hits the major food groups, nightly specials require an additional $10.00 which would keep me from going back once I tried all four entres on the menu. Because it's a Prix Fix menue the staff seems focused on "turning and burning their tables" another words, turn the tables and get people in and out.

And I just went back and the menu's changed a bit, now I can go back at least a few more times and try a whole host of new dishes! This is my kind of place!!!
