The restaurant is beautiful. This would be a very sexy place to have a drink, but I wouldnÂ’t recommend having a drink there because the bar area is really small. The restaurant has a few problems. First, the service is lacking. At the prices the restaurant charges, the staff should be experienced. Instead, they all appear to be very new to the food service industry. The staff is not skilled or attentive. Next, the staff has absolutely no idea what they are doing when it comes to the most basic procedures. The food: It is just bad. They menu is pretty extensive, but the only thing worth eating is the steak. everything else is horrible. The food is so bad that after we left the Kobe Club, we went to another restaurant just to cleanse our palates. This place should be avoided at all costs. The food is expensive and not good at all. I may be a little jaded since I have actually been to Kobe Japan, but the food is generally subpar. Google this restaurant before eating here. Most professional critics agree with my assessment.

Kobe club screams sexiness, great scene, and loud music. Went with a couple friends a few weeks ago and while the meal was "okayy" the experience was awesome. Having visited numerous hot spots in the city I can say that this is definetely one of them. I ordered the waygu steak thinking it would be the best in the city but it was actually subpar. I enjoyed the chopped steak with bacon and bread...sooo delicious. my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Service was excellent. Can't complain...I would definetely go back but never on a date. This is a place to go with your girlfriends or boyfriends...depending on gender of course:)

What was Adam Platt thinking? I stayed away from this place for the better part of 6 months because Adam is usually a solid reviewer, it seems that here he used his bias against Chodorow ( a bias not unfounded; most of his places suck) and decided because of the prices, and because of some other bad reviews, he was going to stick it to this place. Well, Adam screwed up. If you read the review you can see that most of the stuff tasted pretty good but he was with a couple of snobby people who were out to kill the restaurant no matter what. Anyway, I went here tonight, it was absolutely, the best steak I have ever had (I split the flying samurai thing). It is better then Lugers, better then Delfriscos, better then BLT Prime or Steak better then Bobby Vans,, better then Sparks. Goodnight and Good luck Adam, this is the best Steakhouse in the city. Thanks for coming out.

My girlfriend and I went and were amazed by the decor, the food, and also the service. The samurai's flight was perfect, it really highlighted the differences in wagyu beef. We are both beef lovers and couldn't get over this place. Try the Bacon as well, it is to die for. The sake cured salmon was also pretty good but if you love beef then this is the place to go, but don't be surprised when you come accross a $700 bill. Overall we both cannot eat beef anymore as nothing comes close to that japanese wagyu filet and it is hard to find another restaurant that is as romantic.

I am an avid diner, having enjoyed some of the finest restaurants in the world. I was engrossed by Gael Greene's mouthwatering rave of Kobe Club and made a reservation with four friends, who have all made the rounds of NY steakhouses. We were enthralled by the unexpected and inventive decor. We wanted everything on the menu from the double crab cakes and chewy bacon with black truffles to the lobster mashed potatoes, but the BEEF was OUT OF THIS WORLD! We have never experienced a Kobe so tender and flavorful, certainly worth every penny! I have returned to Kobe Club several times since that first encounter and have told everyone I know that I think it is the best steakhouse I have ever been to - it has made the steakhouse sexy, decadent and indulgent. I was stunned and infuriated by Adam Platt's review of Kobe Club yesterday. I fear he has either lost his palate or his mind. To give this restaurant such a hateful review and zero stars is irresponsible and an insult to the many readers of New York Magazine who have been to Kobe and loved it as much as we do.

I recently had a wonderful meal at Kobe Club. The food is spectacular, the design is ultra sexy and we loved all the menu options. I can't wait to go back.

I was not sure what to expect but got more than I had hoped for! The beef cheek ravioli was to die for, the wagyu melted in your mouth (our rating is Japanese #1, American #2, and then Australian) and the sour cream and chive whipped potatoes are the icing on the cake (the pork chop and creamed corn were both delicious as well)! I went with a few of my foodie friends to try it out and we all were truly delighted. They have been back already and I am going back this weekend! I do not think anyone could be disappointed--this place is a winner!!

I am in NYC 40% of my time for business, and always searching for a restaurant where to eat look to ending my hard working day at. If I want to celebrate in a formal atmosphere, Le Bernardin never fails. if I want the confort of the cuisine of my ancient Greek heritage, in a well organized setting, it's Molyvos or Milos where I choose to go. For classic American steak, Wolfgang's or Peter Luger are on my list. But now, with Kobe Club entersing the steak house scene, i have found the one place that can satisfy my desire for the best beef. I have been to the Kobe Club 14 trimes since it opened back in December and I am pleased to know that every person I have entertained has agreed that Jeffrey Chodorow has hit it on the nail by bringing to New York such spoecial ingredients like Japanese, and Australian Wagyu beef, as well as the American versions of this specialty breed and insuperable American Prime steaks. Putting all beef aside, Wild Salmon and exceptional Dover Sole are as fresh as fresh can be.

First things First...The Japanese Wagyu beef here is amazing. My husband and I ordered the Emperor's Flight, which includes filet mignon, rib-eye and I think a strip steak . Well, let me tell you, I just got back from Buenos Aires in April, and I thought I would never have a better peice of meat, but I was definitely wrong. Kobe Club is hands-down the most tender, melt-in-your-mouth peice of meat you will ever have. Only one problem...it's mega-expensive! Our bill came out to $530 without alcohol but I have to say it was so worth it to me. The maitre d', Hector, was nothing short of fabulous. Our waiter was excellent. I couldn't have asked for better service. And the decor! It's so incredibly cool! Kind of like a chic S&M dungeon-like vibe with chains hanging from the dark brick walls, samurai swords perched above your heads, dark moody lighting. Very rock and roll. I loved it!
