Have a drink but stay away from the food

I wish the food was as awesome as the decor.......Beautiful place, small tables, horrible food, cute hip bathroom! Good drinks but too small for the price! Go to the bar....but please don't eat the food!

Wow, the previous reviews are pretty scary. Maybe the owner completely revamped things because my friend and I had a great time there. The decor was adorable, the soundtrack was groovy, and we liked our food, which was decently priced. We got the eggrolls that had pork in them and was served with a side of chili sauce, and each got the salad with spicy beef. Warning: the beef is really spicy with the salad, so be warned! I dig spicy food, so I was ok, but my friend was a bit overwhelmed. Downside: cocktails are pricey here, and our bill would have come below $30 for two had we not ordered them, which were pretty large in size and decent in taste.

Pretentious place serving really badly prepared food. A couple of the appetizers were ok but the rest of the food was really bad, especially the fish which was not even cleaned up properly. It was served with the guts.

I think the only review that recommended this place is Andy Yang himself. No one in their right mind would say that this place is even palatable. Save your money and get a $2.50 falafel instead. The lightening was so horrible that I think I became partially colorblind and it probably changed my genetic makeup. Half the food we ordered were unavailable, sent the drinks back and eventually had to leave (I've never left a restaurant before). No one wants them in our neighborhood, I would rather a McDonald's express open up there. I should have trusted the bad reviews, but I just had to see it myself DOH!

Well, I'm not a huge food critic, but I would like to say that I had a chance to try some amazing dishes! Yes, at times the staff wasn't the most accomodating, but I loved the food...and thats what matters the most. I had a salmon dish with green curry and for appetizers, my friends and I ordered a couple of the dumplings, more specifically the duck and seafood ones. They were DELICIOUS!!! Hopefully next time I can try a couple new dishes as the menu is fairly large. Umm also, if you love drinks, you have to try the Thai Iced Tea....mmmmm

Worse dining experience ever. The waiters hardly understood what we ordered. Came back 30 minutes later to say that half of the things we ordered were not available. No dimsum. No dessert menu either. All the dishes that we ordered but were not available all magically appeared on our check!!! And with no apologies for being overcharged!! They had to re-take our credit cards and that was another 45 minutes wait!!! Not worth the money. I would not be surprised if they decided to open a spa instead!

I've been wanting to try Kurve for weeks despite the negativity surrounding this restaurant and the owner, however, I regret falling for the girly decor. The staff on their re-opening night was inexperienced and unaccomodating. Their dim sum menu was unavailable! Our food came out before we had any utensils, the salmon tartare was a tiny ball of mushy mayo, and cooked salmon? The drinks were very watered down and uninspiring. After sending back my drink three times as it was un-drinkable, I expected to be offered a completely new drink but no, I got my drink back each time, the same one, with a tiny bit of syrup or soda added to it. When we got the bill, we had been overcharged. Not worth the money, and the atmosphere sucked too because the restaurant was empty. Andy Yang, if you're reading this, you need to fire your current bartenders and waitresses, probably your cooks, and especially your host, and restaff all over again if you want to stay in business. Actually, the east village crowd clearly does not want you there, you might do better by relocating to chelsea/meatpacking.

Five years of eating out in NY and this is unequivocally the most horrible dining experience ever. So bad in fact, that this is the first restaurant review I've ever given. Service was egregious and completely overpriced, with a staff that is not only bad at what they do (messed up bill, overcharged=30 minutes to pay, drinks spilled, despondent) but oh so miserable to interact with. Our party of four agreed, we'd rather get punched one time in the face and go without dinner than eat here again.
