My wife and I went there for dinner the other night and as soon as we walked in things looked a little strange. We were not greeted or seated by anyone. The waitress was very pleasant although she spoke "no english" asked what she could get us, I replied "may I have A menu please". She replied "we don't have any". After guessing for (3) different dishes I was ready to go but my wife insited on staying. I then asked to see a manager and was told non was present. I then told the nasty young lady behind the bar if they couldn't furnish me with something I could order from then we would have no choice but to leave. She replied " bye!" Needless to say we left and I filled a 311 complaint the next morning.

I'm so sad, and disappointed! I wanted to go to this restaurant ever since I saw the throw down with Booby Flay. my husband and I went to see In the heights which was GREAT! I told him about La fonda Boricua. we went to that disgusting roach infested FONDA I should have known as soon as I walked in. It SMELLS, its DARK, they have no menus! Our flag is painted in the back and it looks horrible Hey Fonda Boricua you think you can afford out lit covers? They sell them at Home Depo I was born in PUERTO RICO I visit 5 to 6 times a year, I own a home in FAJARDO! I LOVE PUERTO RICO! If you want to represent me and my people PLEASE do it right if not don't bother Wanna know what a real PUERTO RICAN Restaurant looks like go visit SOFRITO/SAZON That's Puerto Rican CLASS!! PS the food was horrible!! The pernil was so dry I needed the Bacardi Rum Factory to help me eat that shit! and your so called Arroz con pollo It looked like the POLLO exploded in the pot! iduclet74aol.com

I feel your pain & the fact that SURE it was "their" responsibility to contact you & accomodate you at all costs particularly, when you made reservations prior to the event. NOTHING excuses ruined plans for ANY mother, the greatest gift of them all. With that in mind, "smart" business folks will go to great lenghts to please their customer's old and new but, only if you give them the chance to make it up to you. I've had dinner at La Fonda Boricua a number of times since the late 90's & TRUST ME, their food is delicious, the service is great, they're very courteous & friendly & their prices are even better! Don't crucify the entire staff or the restaurant for ONE person dropping the ball. EVERYBODY makes mistakes at least once. The point is, you deserve to check this place out and take your mom back there. Give yourself the opportunity to savour Great Food & I promise you, you'll be VERY pleased. A 15% discount on the house would be nice to make-up for your ordeal. Best eats!!!

The food at La Fonda is great. The atmostphere is also wonderful, very comfortable and homey. It reminds me of my parents kitchen. I live in the Bronx and work in Manhattan and would love to find a restaurant as good as La Fonda in the Bronx. I often go to eat lunch or dinner here. I have introduced all my family and friends to this place and they all love it. Go La Fonda!!! Lourdes Mercado/the Bronx
