I feel like I'm back in Paris with the prices of 1980. Continued great food and service, makes thai a destination place to eat. I'm always in a plane and a new city or country and it is very hard to find a place to eat that is small, select and not full of hype.

Enjoy the vinegar-like "Chardonnay" as you sup from $2.99 Pier 1 ramekins. Let's face it, this restaurant is serving cafeteria-style French food and fooling you into thinking it's "homemade" or "simple". Check out the freaky painting of the rooster, too. Each entree comes with (1) bald white potato sprinkled with "parsley" and some near-canned green beans. There must be some catering business next door - the waiters are constantly leaving *to go outside* with plates of food. You'll constantly be reminded of all the ways this place is trying to save money -- at Le Petit Auberge, "you're putting up with the restaurant," not the other way around. As you dine, delivery men will be entering and exiting the front door with their cargo - charming. Lovely dessert menu, too, mispelling "EXPRESSO". Is a place like this really to be trusted? Avoid. I'd rather dine with a bunch of dangerous, shaggy freaks.

I love this place. It's a simple, classic French restaurant that deserves to endure. Very good food, very good service -- including honest and helpful recommendations from the waitress. Small and intimate, but not stuffy or pretentious, this is the kind of place that makes me love New York. Everything classic dish we tasted was just right -- filet with bernaise sauce, filet of sole, fresh asparagus, a wonderfully simple salad, and an absolutely perfect chocolate mousse (although my friend was equally pleased with the peach melba). Can't wait to take other friends and family there for an everning that's sure to be, well, just right.

I organized a special dinner at LPA for 11 after proposing to my now fiance. The small inviting atmosphere swallowed us as we entered. The service was great. I could hear everyone at the other end of the table. The food was tremendous for the value. I have zero complaints. This is the perfect place to have a nice dinner with 10 or so of your favorite friends. Price Fixed Dinner, with drinks, for 11 people was 510 without tip. We all left smiling...and my fiance is still on cloud 9.

Almost lost in the teaming clutter of Southeast Asian restaurants sits this quaint and charming bistro where you're apt to find your grandparents dining there right along side you! Great for either quiet interludes with your significant other or a dinner with a group of your friends, the gentlemanly service is steady and old pro. Their affordable menu and moderately priced wine list is the perfect antidote for those who chronically suffer from overpaying for simple brasserie fare like steak frites, duck l'orange, and coq au vin in this city.

The food here is pretty good, but that isn't what stands out in my mind. I left the restaurant very pleased with the quality of the service. The waiter was extremely friendly, funny, and helpful. It has a very relaxed, cozy atmosphere. The creme brulee and foie gras there are wonderful. Otherwise, the food didn't impress me too much. I tried the onion soup and that was a bit mediocre. I wouldn't go back because there are so many other restaurants that offer great service with even better food.

Besides the main restaurant, they also have a private room upstairs with a separate entrance and bathroom. A surprisingly pretty, warm, cozy, inviting place with a separate bar and audio setup. We had a bridal shower there - the food was FANTASTIC, the service was EXCEPTIONAL, and the value with their prix fixe menu was unbeatable for Manhattan! Highly recommendable for those on a budget.

As I walked through the door, I was transported back to France, from the decor & atmospere, to the aromas, drifting from the kitchen and from table to table! Qu'elle joie.......
This classic style of French cooking is what we Americans call
"Good Home Cooking", like the steak au poivre, filet of sole meuniere, pate, etc.....
Desserts are wonderfully french, the service as it should be, and all at moderate prices.
Would definetely return and would highly recommend!
