The coffee was delicious, strong and free flowing. The orange juice was fresh. The french toast was rich. Could be eaten without syrup. A hint of cinnamon, not soggy, and delicious bread topped with fruit. Their eggs are consistent - cooked perfectly. Their fries are like eating McDonalds fries. They are ok. All in all a really nice quaint little brunch spot that I would gladly travel to brooklyn from manhattan to get again.

I live right by this restaurant and was very excited when it first opened. I went right after it opened and thought the food was excellent and the prices were amazing. It used to be $13 for steak frites! I recently went back and it's like an entirely different restaurant. They redecorated, which is great. The interior is amazing. But the quality of the food has decreased and the prices have astronomically increased (that same steak frites now costs $18). I went there with my boyfriend a few nights ago and it was a really bad experience. We started with a shrimp avocado salad. The shrimp had been frozen, not fresh (they were the tiny little ones). And then it came with like 1,000 Island dressing on top. It was so gross. We didn't eat any of it. And when the server came over she didn't even ask if something was wrong (which it obviously was, because we didn't eat any of it!!). Then our entrees came and they were oversalted. I really want to like this place but I just can't. They need to really work on the quality of the food.

What can I say, Grand Street south of the BQE has been pretty desolate. Huckleberry helps, Bushwick Country Club helps, Artland... well..... So I was blown away by the inside of Le Barricou, really a beautiful and enormous space. Only eaten there once so I won't get crazy but good food, not expensive. Rumors of a wine bar in the back room.
