Though this restaurant has fairly average food, the service is horrific. Servers are disinterested in clients, and most of all, manager is an unpleasant character. Honestly speaking there are so many good restaurants with top service in NYC, so why do we need some place with mediocre food as well as service with an attitude, esp from the manager?? Get rid of him!

We arrived at our reservation time but the General Manager kept us waiting for 25 minutes. When we raised the issue of the delay, he took us aside and told us off for bothering him! Never before, have we been told off as customers of a restaurant when we were awaiting a table!! He was an extremely uncourteous and arrogant gentleman - he did eventually give us a table but when we heard our neighbors complaining about the delay for their food, he ignored them. Shame on you Chanterelle for employing such a caustic and unprofessional gentleman to manage your sister restarant. Food was not bad but service was disappointing from your lead manager! We will certainly be telling our friends to avoid such poor service, and we do know a lot of folks in the F&B industry!
