Wonderful

I like that Le Colonial has the trappings of high dining without the attitude. I've been here on multiple occasions, dressed up and down, with reservations and on a whim; every time the experience is the same. Not a bad seat in the house, not a bad waiter on the staff. And the food is just divine!

I have been to this restaurant at least a dozen times and have to say it is one of the few places I return to. I think it hits all the right cords in food, service, decor and value. Enjoy!

Good food; bad for large groups

I've eaten here several times before; the food and service are both quite good. However, in trying to do a large business dinner, I found the sales director both rude and inflexible. The prices given in the contract were 45% higher than the a la carte prices for no real advantage. Their "magic number" where your dinner becomes an "event" is 12, so I would not recommend this place for a large group. The experience with the sales director has soured me to the point where I don't anticipate returning any time soon.

A Faithful Reflection of Contemporary Vietnamese Cuisine

Having just returned from a trip to Vietnam, I was somewhat hesitant of going to Le Colonial, fearing I would find the menu and execution far inferior to excellent dinning enjoyed in Hanoi. An unwarranted fear, dismissed within minutes of sitting down to dinner. Le Colonial has the look and feel of the top restaurants one encounters in the major cities of Vietnam. While the staff is multicultural, the service has a similar attentive nature as one receives in Hanoi or Ho Chin Minh City (Saigon). The menu has many of the same items one gets in country, and the execution ranges from good to excellent. While not fully encompassing one in Vietnamese culture, Le Colonial does achieve much. PS- the upper floor bar is a wonderful sanctuary from the din of Manhattan.

Amazing food

I loved the food, there was real fusion to the menu, not just French or Vietnamese. The wait staff seemed psycic! I really enojed the food. The maitre d'seemed a little vampirish but it was a great experience
