I love this Chinese place. I lived across the street for many years and was a regular. The food is fantastic, and to be on the water makes it a very special experience.

NEVER AGAIN - The worst dining experience in NYC

Twenty minutes after ordering we are wondering where our food was (only two tables were occupied). Five minutes later we receive our first appetizer...another 30 minutes pass and we still have not received an entree. First entree comes an hour after sitting down. We ask the waiter if the rest of our food is coming and says "the kitchen is very very busy". The waiter then proceeds to lounge against the column. Another 10 minutes pass and we are getting frustrated. We ask the lady waitress to help us out...she was very proactive and quickly got the kitchen to cook our food. After dinner I walk inside the restaurant to use the restroom...I was accosted by a rude unpolished lady who said in a condescending tone "Can I help you. Where are you going?" I said "I am walking towards the restroom." She says, "But toilet only for customer..." To which I replied "Woman, I just spent over $100 to dine here and I am appalled you are speaking to me like this." No apologies - she simply looks away. I let her have it. If you want a pleasant dining experience, avoid this restaurant at all costs.

When entering the restaurant I was greeted by the most pleasant hostess I have ever met, She ask me where I was from and then chatted a little and then sat us down. The ambience was great the food was even better. What can I say just try it for yourself. You will be happy with the experience and sad that you have to leave.

The rebirth of the restaurant space at 21 South End Ave is very welcomed indeed. The food is always wonderful! Try the shredded potato dish, the Sesame Pancake, and the wonderful casseroles. Service is always friendly and efficient and the outside space is P-E-R-F-E-C-T!
