The most authentic Neapolitan Pizza in NY
By Vittoria on 4/5/2009
My mother is from Naples, and I lived there for four years of my life so I know exactly what a Neapolitan pizza is supposed to taste like. Lombardi's is by far the closest to an authentic Neapolitan pizza I have had in New York. I have been to many other pizza places that claim to be authentic including Patsy's and Grimaldi's and Lombardi's is the best I have had so far. Plus, the prices are incredibly cheap, and the staff is very friendly.

It was my first time in NewYork and we had heard about this place. When we got there the line up was super long and people were impatient. My dad went in there, put our names down and said we were in no rush, to the waitress who was very busy. Five minutes later we got table before tons of people infront of us. The staff was really nice, the pizza was amazing, and its so cheap for the best pizza you will ever have. Also, there rootbeer tastes amazing.

Lombardi's is the absolute best! I felt like my great grandfather from Italy had sat in the same chair I was sitting in. The pizza was the bomb! Taste like Nonna's pizza. The only draw back, they don't take credit cards. :-) But I'll go back again and again. Locals love this place. My friends Joanne, Veronica, Cecilia and I arrived just in time, when we left there was a line around the block. That should tell you something.

Are you kidding? This place is amazing. One of the few places in NYC that offers authentic pizza in a laid pack, trattoria style enviornment. There is nothing like a Lombardi's pizza. They keep it simple, just fresh ingredients and a brick oven...it equals perfection. My body actually starts to crave this place if I haven't been in a while. I call my father and say "Pop, we gotta meet at Lombardi's my stomach is talking to me". Lombardi's feels like a 4 star pizza joint, right in the middle of the village. The best, hands down. But in all my years eating at Lombardi's, I've never had the clam pizza. I must admit, it scares me a little.

We love Lombardi's pizza and go there at least once a week. There is usually a long wait, but they deliver all the way to the Seaport - Greenwich Village. You are guaranteed a wonderful pie. R.J. Masi, Masi World Construction

I love pizza. So does my wife, who is Italian. Dont let any negative reviews fool you. As "tourist-y" as Lombardi's may be, it is still the best pizza you can get. I have been to NYC plenty of times, but this past weekend was the first time my wife got to experience it, and when she tasted Lombardi's pizza she about fell over, it is that good. If you're looking for typical "chain" style pizza, dont bother with Lombardi's. If you want the real deal, then this place cant be beat. The sauce alone is amazing. Combined with a great (even if flimsy) crust and fresh basil and mozzarella , it truly is an experience. This is, hands down, the BEST pizza in America.
Lombardi's is a Must

On a recent trip to the Big Apple to visit family, my aunt took us to what she called, one of the greatest pizzerias in New York. She advised us there would be a line, and there was. It was PACKED. We waited somewhere around 30 minutes for a table and were seated in the basement which was decorated nicely with soft lighting, wine shelves and enjoyable artwork. We ordered water to start and a large white pizza, one of my personal favorites at any pizzeria. We didn't wait more than 20 minutes for the pizza, understandable do to the high volume of customers, but when it arrived it was beautiful. Thin, crisp crust topped with a delicious blend of Italian cheeses, herbs, garlic butter on the crust's exterior, and the kicker: tufts of whipped ricotta decorated the pie. It tasted better than it looked too. The crust light and buttery with a nice crisp and the cheeses blended perfectly. After this experience, I urge you to visit this historic pizza landmark. You'll be glad you did.

The pizza in Lombardi's is great, The service is fast, and its exciting to know that you are eating in the first pizzaria in the US. This was a fun night out with great food for a great price.
