Margs are good but not $17 good. We ordered the nachos which were basically tortilla chips with spicy chili topped with cheese. I wouldn't call these nachos. Go to Mexican Radio if you want great Nachos. We also had their guacamole, which was flavorless. Rosa Mexican and Dos Caminos have much better guac. It tasted like chopped salted avocado and not much more than that. I had the green chili enchilada which was fine but nothing special. Whatever you do, check your bill! We were overcharged. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere unless you want bland but spicy overpriced New York Mexican food. I've been peeing from my butt all day and believe me, it's just as spicy coming out. I would only go back for the Margaritas because it's hard to find good ones that aren't too sweet. The bartender was nice.

The margaritas are great, but the food was mediocre. Definitely overpriced.

I thought LDM would be good, from the reviews here. But the food is mediocre, overpriced and the atmosphere is so noisy it is hard to hear yourself talk. The service was average, but the noise and crowded conditions made eating there unpleasant. If LDM were an in-and-out quick sit-down restaurant, the bland food & crowded conditions might be acceptable, but in a restaurant where we paid $130 for 3, covering 4 Dos Equis drafts ($7 ea.), 2 diet cokes, 2 chile relleno dinners, one chile relleno w/cheese enchilada, one cheese tortilla with canned artichoke heart appetizer--the atmosphere should be better. And the Chile Relleno? It was a loose & greasy omelette into which was stuck a cooked green pepper stuffed with melted cheese--A chile relleno is supposed to be a cheese-stuffed, cooked green chile fried in a light egg batter coating. We were also charged for an extra beer--a mistake I had to bring to their attention. All these positive reviews? I am a big fan of Mexican cuisine, but the food was not in the least bit spicy! A chef that doesnt know mild? What a laugh!

My family has been going to this restaurant in Arizona since before I was born. The spice keeps us coming back for more! I was worried when I moved to NYC that I wouldn't find authentic Mexican food, and was nervous that this would be like many of the other Mexican restaurants on the east coast; bland, blended with Spanish/Tex-Mex flavor, and overpriced. Although this restaurant is a bit more expensive than it's native Arizona home store, it is well worth the wait (sometimes over an hour) and the money! They have shipped their ingredients straight from Arizona and New Mexico and I couldn't be happier...this is not a place for the weak palate, they don't call it spicy for nothing. Family favorites are the machaca (shredded marinated beef) or chicken chimichangas; and don't forget a mango margarita to wash it down.

The lighting is so dim in this cozy space that when you approach the entrance, you worry it might be closed. Once inside and seated, you will struggle to read the menu with the light from the votive candle on your table. What youÂ’ll see on the dimly lit menu though is some of the best (spicy!) Mexican fare in the city. The shredded beef soft tacos were a real delight, showing off the care and attention the kitchen gives even to the more standard dishes. The sangria was good, though the pitcher could have done with less ice. Service was efficient, until the meal was over when it took a long time to get the check, but thatÂ’s better than some places that canÂ’t wait for you to move along so they can seat the next patrons. Overall, Los Dos Molinos sparkled despite its overly dim lighting and the food was worth the trip to Union Square. And if youÂ’re looking to embarrass someone on their birthday, you canÂ’t beat the large sombrero and loud singing offered by the staff here!

I am a native New Mexican transplanted to the East Coast. I grew up on Rellenos, Burritos, and Enchiladas, and true green/red chile from Hatch Valley. I guarantee that the food served at Los Dos Molinos is the real thing. Very, Very tasty. Recommend the Rellenos or the Enchiladas-My partner was very fond of the Flautas, as well. Enjoy!

I had very high expectations since I am an avid customer of the original Los Dos in Phoenix. I was somewhat disappointed by the service, but the food was just as fabulous. The ribs are indescribable. spicy, meaty and fall-off-the bone tender. Pile the meat on a homemade tortilla, add some salsa and guac and you're in heaven. The carne adovado is great as well.

A restaurant should never slack off at lunch and thats exactly what Los Dos did. This past friday, they had one person bartending, serving, clearing and for all I know cooking. The chips were decent, served with a very hot and even hotter pair of salsas. A bean and cheese enchilada was pretty good, the beans and rice (that were extra) were another story. The beans were fairly bland and lukewarm, the rice was just plain old - it looked and tasted as if it had been cooked more times then Liz has been married. Yuck. A red chili tamale oozed more grease then filling and the ground beef taco was just so-so adorned with a wedge of tomato instead of diced (I had ordered it with guacamole and it came without it, oh well).

After leaving Arizona for NJ thought we'd never be able to satisfy our craving for good, authentic, mexican food and margaritas. The owners truly brought a taste from Arizona and New Mexico that should not be missed.
