My husband and I are new to the slope and went to this place because we didn't know better. Now we do. Now YOU do as well and hopefully won't go waste your money there. We did not have the overbilling problems as other people have complained about, but I always pay with cash at a restaurant. Not sure what would have happened if we gave them a card. The food is the real waste of time. Since the place has chicken in the name, we figured this should be what they're good at. It wasn't. It was rubbery and tasteless. Our seafood app was equally bland and not worth the calories. The chips and salsa are mediocre at best - I'm sure I remember better at a Chi-Chis in upstate NY about 10 years ago. The service was lacking - the decor is tired and tacky. Overall, I think we're both just glad we didn't get sick from eating there.

What is the Mexican term for being taken advantage of? Los Pollitos II is a scam. They charge a 20% gratuity (unannounced) added on a bill for PARTY OF TWO AFTER the TAXES. That is a roughly a 30% service charge on the original bill! They total the bill, add tax and then add twenty percent on top of that. How unethical. What are we, tourists in Times Square? We are a quiet couple from the neighborhood! So now we are tipping on the tax. So, we entered “already included” on the tip line on the card receipt and signed of on the total. IT GETS WORSE! They then added another 20% to the credit card!! They doubled the bill with service charges!! For two people! What would they do for a party? What is with that? A 30% service charge! 20% on top of that? They gouge you! So some advice: BEWARE! CHECK THE BILL BEFORE PAYING AT Los Pollitos II!! DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD!!

We came in because a sign said "Happy Hour $4.75 Margaritas." We went in and asked if it was happy hour with $4.75 drinks, the waiter said yes. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The margaritas were good. The nachos were small but edible. We asked for chips and received a very tiny basket and two ounces of salsa for $2.65 with no refills. We got the check and the drinks were not happy hour prices. We asked the waiter to fix it. Another waiter came over and explained to us that they had taken the chips off and that they did not have happy hour and that the sign was merely to bring people into the restaurant. We specifically asked before being seated about the drinks only to have them turn around and tell us that the sign was essentially a lie. The waiter even went so far as to say "you know how it is, you understand right?" He basically said that we were dumb for relying on the sign and their statement and they were doing us a favor for giving us the terrible chips for free. We will never go back.

I ate here twice. The first time it was full; the "intimate" setting is a little annoying since people can bump into you when you're eating. The food is cheap - we ordered the rotisserie chicken with fried platanos and rice. Second time we ate here, it was a weeknight around 10 pm, so it was not very full. Despite this, it was hard to get our server's attention or focus. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and realized there wasn't any soap in the bathroom, not even in the closet or under a sink. I cringed when I saw several line cooks go in and out of the bathroom after me. It was the last time we ate there - the chicken wasn't done enough and I couldn't help but think whoever made the food might not have washed their hands.
