Lovely Neighborhood Gem

Extracted from my blog: http://lestorydefood.blogspot.com/ The decoration is very unique because it seems like a shabby chic "Grease" diner with 50s floral wallpaper. I really like the eclectic decoration that might all but make sense with the Thai cuisine. The restaurant is frequented by a bunch of hipsters, artists, and yuppies (probably due to the well-priced menu) and funky décor. Ena forgot her wallet at my apartment, and I only had $39 on me so we were a bit economically strapped. I ordered Shrimp Green Curry and rice. My curry was creamy, sweet, and really spicy. Burned my taste buds a few times. The curry also had bamboo shoots, Thai basil (yum!), eggplant, and carrot. The serving of 5 pieces of jumbo shrimp was a pretty good bargain for a $9 dish in NoLita.

Miss Lovely Day

We were just wishing" how nice would it be now if we can go to Lovely Day for crispy chicken and noodles!". Even though we did experience the attitude from the wait staffs, I'm still hoping the owner can reopen Lovely Day soon because we do love hanging out and having yummy food there. It is not that impossible to train the staffs to serve customers with respect and pleasure. What goes around comes around! So hope to go to Lovely Day again soon!

I miss Lovely Day!

It's been months since the fire struck the building containing our lovely neighborhood restaurant, Lovely Day. My winter months were spent in dread without my lattes, ginger chicken, organic egg sandwiches and fresh apple juices. Now spring, and my sweet & dear local restaurant is still closed. I look forward to its opening this summer, where I can see again liveliness in the neighborhood--the sound of laughter and happiness--with delicious food with most affordable pricing to allow for my everyday indulgence at Lovely Day. --Another reason to love this place is their awareness in support to community farms and the community of NoLita.

great date spot

i agree with other reviewers that the service can have attitude, but it is really not as bad as the other reviews say. i have been here a dozen times and got rude service only once. the rest of the time service was decent to good, but the food was delicious and it's great for the price. very cute little restaurant and great date spot. i would just say it's especially annoying if you have to wait for a table because there is nowhere to stand (only outside) so get there early and you'll be fine.

I liked the food and atmosphere and I am big lover of Thai food so was very excited to go. I found the people who worked there so rude I will not go back. I had the feeling they were doing me a big favor by being there.

well folks, the food 'aint bad- but twice now the NASTY attitude- just how they stay in business is anyones guess.
