Luke's no FLUKE!

As I glanced through the window and saw patrons intently focused on their food, chewing adamantly, tables absent of discussion (their mouths were full) my mouth began to salivate. Further I pondered the notion of promptly stepping foot through the door with a ballerina's grace in joining the anti social epidemic that Luke's Lobster causes. However, I had already treated myself to a 4 lb Atlantic - which was steamed by the way with a hint of butter (in case you were wondering) at Luke's Lobster rival competitor known as Wolfgangs Steakhouse. Although I DID NOT try any of Luke's Lobster I completely stand by them with all my heart and utmost sincerity. In other words I vouch for their product and culinary talent. By the way, Luke's Lobster catches all their lobster in accordance with Maine's sustainability standards. The best part is, those creatures are caught and put in buns in less than 3 days; from the salty ocean to mayo and butter in lickidy split time prior to being consumed and found placent in someone's gastrointestinal tract.

After a long night out of drinking & debauchery with friends I found myself at Luke's Lobster on the lower east side, starving and excited to try my first lobster roll. The service at Luke was excellent (from what I can remember) and the food was amazing. I left Luke's wondering how something so simple (lobster chunks &mayo on a toasted roll) could taste so damn good.

I had the Taste of Maine which includes the small versions of the crab, lobster and shrimp rolls, plus a tiny portion of crab claws, a drink and bag of chips. This was plenty to fill me up, but in future I might just grab an a la carte full size lobster and crab roll for $4 more since they were by far the best parts of the meal. For those concerned about waiting, I went post-dinner rush (around 8pm) on a Wednesday and was out the door with my to go order in less than 15 minutes. Between this little nugget and the new Shake Shack on 86th, I'm a happy girl! Pros: tasty food, speedy service during off-hours Cons: still pretty spendy, even if it is cheap for lobster. limited menu (especially sides).

solid but not a full meal

lukes lobster roll was tasty and the service was quick. definitely leaves you hungry and craving more. a $14 roll is a steal but you really need two unless you eat like a bird. they really need a "monster roll" option and a side dish other than chips to make people happy. regardless, the roll itself is quite delicious.

Good value for NYC

Never understood why lobster rolls cost so much, but this is the best value among all NYC outlets that serve the dish. Crab roll is tastier than lobster roll (and cheaper), but both are good value with a fistful of meat. Lobster roll uses CLAW MEAT NOT TAIL, mind you. The Half Roll looks sadly small, it's gone in one bite even for a small woman. GET THE WHOLE ROLL. There's no service to speak of, since this is a take-out setting. In any case, this is the go-to place for my lobster roll craving.

Fast, cheap and tasty but remember to order all your mayo and extras. Tiny spot with few seats. No french fries, no slaw.... OK but not a full meal. If they took a bigger space they would kill
