I am so APPALLED with the way this restaurant runs a business. Our party of 9 made reservations for 8:30 and arrived at 8:37 and the RUDE and SNARKY waitress stated its the restaurant policy to give the table away after FIVE minutes!!! We decided to wait for the next available table which the hostess assured us would be available in about. 20 minutes which resulted in us waiting for almost 2 hours!!! We finally sat on our table ordered about 4 plates of appetizers, drinks and main courses. The appetizers came in about 20 minutes, the drinks never arrived, and we waited so long for the main course we decided to speak to the manager which also was so RUDE and DEFENSIVE from the moment you approached her. Was not willing to hear our concerns and did not resolve any of our issues. We finally closed our bill and could not believe the absurd prices for the appetizers we ate. (Which by the way were not good) We have never had such a nightmare experience eating out and cannot understand how this business can have such a horrible staff with poor customer service skills.

So Jannassan goes 4 times and it is "absolutely wonderful", goes a fifth time and it is the worst experience of her life????? Make up your mind...and give them a break, how come you never posted anything positive all other 4 times you went. People are quick to post when they have something bad to say. It is sad...nothing will ever be perfect, and a 4 out of 5 sounds pretty damn outstanding to me. I love the place and I don't recall having ever a bad experience, the food and ambiance is great.

I had the WORST experience at Mamajuana last night. It was the worst experience I've had in a restaurant yet. I've been there 5 times now; first 4 times were absolutely wonderful. During the first four times, waiter was very attentive and courteous. I love the maduro relleno, white sangria and the paella. In any case, I only saw my waitress 4 times at my table last night; 1st time to give me dinner menu, 2nd time to pour me drinks, and 3rd time to give me dessert menu, and 4th time to give me check. Mind you, I spent the better part of my meal trying to get her attention because I wanted to order other things and I wanted more sangria. I could NOT make eye contact WITH ANYONE at that restaurant for the entire duration of my meal! Safe to say, I actually went HUNGRY because no one would give me service. I actually had to get up and run to someone and tap them on the shoulder to get attention. Furthermore, one bus boy saw that I needed help and DELEGATED the task of tending me to another waitress who took her sweet time to get to me. I also had to wait 15-20 minutes for someone to clear my table after I had eaten. The hostess was very rude and off-putting as if she was too cool to sit me and my boyfriend, too cool to talk to me and my boyfriend, too bothered with us. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will never go back to Mamajuana even though I enjoy the food. People, beware. This restaurant is really "too cool" to serve anyone.

Are you kidding me. My friends wanted me to go all the way up there but then I was blown away. The place is cool but not pretentious and the food is amazing. Love the ambiance! Mojito is excellent and they have a great wine list. This will be a destination spot for me now. Perfect for groups especially if you can snag the outdoor seating! A+
