One of my favorite spots in NYC. Great and cheap food is served by friendly and helpful waitstaff. I love it. Also, the wines are great and reasonably priced, and the desserts are a fantastic end to any meal. I have never been disappointed here, and I've brought many friends to this little spot. LOVE IT!

where should I start? perhaps it was the the waiter who rushed us to order, rushed us to eat, rushed us to pay, sighed audibly when we asked for more bread, and never asked us if we liked our food? perhaps it was the bland pasta seemingly prepared by a dorm room freshman, radicchio burned to ashen flakes, sausages fried dry and flavorless, and a mojito made with limes so old and bitter they may have come from last year's harvest. whatever the case, mangiami furthers the adage; you get what you pay for. but for that to be completely true, we should've paid school cafeteria prices. i literally feel cheated out of a real meal...

This place is a 'must try' in the area and the best restaurant I have tried in a long while. It was very slow/early on a weeknight and the owner served us himself. Great happy hour specials on drinks and the food is reasonably priced. I loved the art displayed on the walls and the artsy yet sophisticated decor in general. The dance/house music playing was very subtle, don't be deterred if you don't like that kind of thing. The bruschetta with sardines was out of this world, the slightly salty fish tasted so great with the sweet tomatos and balsamic vinegar, a must try. A+ I can't recommend it enough!

my friend and i shared the grilled chicken panini and goat chesse salad for an early dinner, both of which were v tasty. we also got a free order of panna cotta for dessert - i'm still not sure why, but i think because of some perceived notion that our service had not been up to snuff - even though it had been excellent!! the place is super cute and a great date spot. i will def go again. and now, for the reason i am writing a review when i am almost always too lazy to do this - when i was going out to leave, and was sort of standing outside the entrance looking forlorn because it was pouring rain, the cab situation was bleak, and i had no umbrella - our server appeared with an umbrella from the lost-and-found! above and beyond.

Set on a quiet neighborhood street with a great view for people watching, Mangiami gives a great first impression. The vibe and music were just right and the cappuccino was very good. Unfortunately, the waitress left a less than positive impression. I was the first to arrive at the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, waiting for my two friends to arrive. All the rest of the chairs and tables were empty because I was the only one there. Placed my bag casually on a side chair only to receive a passive aggressive response, "um, can you not do that? i know there are a lot of chairs but.. uh.. yeah." Not a great start. Had an enjoyable time sipping coffee and chatting with my friend until the check arrived. $12. Placed my credit card by the bill until passive-aggressive responds, "um.. we can't accept credit card unless your bill's over $15." "It will be over $15 with tip" "Uh.. no" Put down cash and left. If the waitress could be replaced with someone who is more welcoming and aligned with the otherwise enjoyable atmosphere, then it would be a great place to revisit.

I love this place. The food is fresh and delicious (and cheap). It's owned by Italians which explains why it's so authentic. The place is also cute and cozy. I had terrific service both times I was there. Oh, and the wine list is great!

While the food and the value at this adorable LES wine bar is well worth the trek, they certainly need to work on their people skills. The restaurant was mostly empty the entire time we were there, but they kept pressuring us to order, very rudely. To the point the server once said, "well you need to order so I can get the menus out of your way." Really, I don't remember saying that they were bothering me. And if you hadn't been so passive aggressive and blatantly dumb about hurrying us through our meal, we might have had more drinks and more food. Shame on you, there are too many other wine bars that actually let you enjoy your meal. And it was only 6 o'clock. Educate your staff on service if you want anyone to come back.

I had a great experience at this restaurant last night. It was a little quiet, maybe because of the holiday (St. Patrick's Day). The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The service was okay - our waiter was attentive enough but I think he was very new. Anyway, I recommend this restaurant!

Just came back from this restaurant. Was meeting a friend in the nabe, read the thumbs up review and decided to give it a try. Poor menu selection and even worse specials. My salmon was terrible. Dry and tasteless, it was drenched with some kind of imitation tartar sauce... I guess Tuesday is really not the best day for fish. There is no "cool vibe" either. Just a cramped space. Service was slow and the whole restaurant had only one waiter. So many other, better places of this sort in the same price range. I would not recommend...
