We stumbled on Manhattan Bistro today when tired and hungry in Soho - it was the first place to sit down. We came with no expectations and what a great surprise - contrary to everything written before the food and service were great. This was by far the best eggs florentine I've had in NYC in years - soft english muffins, perfectly runny eggs, smooth hollandaise sauce and fresh blanched spinach - for under $15 - pinch me! When my wine selection was out the waiter brought over a sampling of something he thought I might like. I will definetly give this place another try. The table next to us said the gazpacho was excellent.

this was the most disappointing resurant I've ever been to. The waiters were clueless of what you wanted. The pasta was so over cooked that there was no need to chew. The chocolate mousse wasn't chocolate mousse and have no idea what it was. The creame boule was just pudding in a dish with out the hard sugar coating... The best part of the whole meal was the bread and coffee. So if that is what you like to eat this is a great place for it.... NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY

Interesting mural on the wall. 3 course meal $21 incl dessert. The sweet potatoes were very good with maple syrup, the stuffing was good, the mashed potatoes were o.k., the peas were a bit overcooked. The white meat turkey was cut thin like mechanically sliced cold cuts. It was lacking in flavor but edible. Dark meat was unavailable (except two very tiny scraps) Thanksgiving roast turkey should be cut just slightly less than about a 1/4 inch thick and should have a sliver of roasted skin on some edges and dark meat available (this did not). I suspect that they are not roasting whole turkeys, either buying breasts only or even getting the meat pre-sliced. Turkey being the most important item I cannot recommend it. We ordered glasses of Merlot wine not indicating brand and it they turned out to be $13 each. That's where they get ya skip the wine. The service was O.K. Avoid the booth seats they're too small and cramped. Apart from the turkey the food was acceptable but pedestrian. But it's hard to beat the price.

Went there with my girlfriend and the chicken sandwich was horrifically bland and the service was worse. Plus, when we got home my girlfriend noticed the restaurant added two dollars to the bill total. Worst dining experience in Soho by far.

I can't believe anyone eats here. Certainly no one eats here more than once. The food is terrible and the service even worse. The French Onion Soup tastes like dishwater and the Bistro Burger must be made with sawdust. If you're in SoHo and want a decent burger and friendly service at a reasonable price, go to the Vandam Diner at 12 Vandam Street and skip this pretentious arrogant joint.

Don't be fooled by the homey "neighborhood" look. The only people in Manhattan Bistro are tourists who think they've found a bargain--until they have to deal with the inept service and food that's mediocre at best: overcooked and pretentious. If this place weren't on the shopping strip in SoHo, with a new bunch of suckers arriving daily, it would have been defunct in six months. You're better off at Zoe on Prince Street, or even at the pizzeria a few blocks away. This place is a bad joke. Probably a great place to go if you're breaking up with someone--you'd never want to go back.

I was very disappointed. I understand that French bistros are supposed to have "iffy" service, but this was beyond that. We could not even understand the server when he was explaing the specials and anytime we tried to get their attention, they could not hear us (and the place only had four other tables). Half of the dishes on the menu were not available - including the signature Duck plate. When the food started to come out, my husband had to wait an extra 10 minutes for his steak medium rare. When the steak finally came out, it was "black and blue" - so he had to wait even longer. Two of the other meals came out with the wrong sides. Granted the food that we did get was tasty, but I believe there are plenty of other restaurants in the city where you can get good food.
