Originally from the Bronx, now living in NC. Whenever I visit, I have to stop at Manna.

I WAS VERY SICK AND ANNOYED THAT THE KITCHEN CREW WOULD DRAG OUT LARGE BAGS OF TRASH CONTAINING FOOD THROUGH THE ISLES WHILE CUSTOMERS WERE EATING. ONCE I COMPLAINED THEY WERE UPSET AND CONTINUED UNTIL I LEFT. I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER AND SHE JUST SAID WAIT, THEN ONCE I LEFT THEY CONTINUED TO DRAG TRASH DOWN THE ISLES THAT STUNK WHILE OTHERS WERE EATING. 3X IS ENOUGH FOR ME I WOULD NEVER GO TO MANNA'S ON 7TH AVE AGAIN.

We 'found' this eatery when taking the bus from park ave uptown to Lenox to transfer to the airport bus. Our short visit was rewarded with a wonderful meal (buffet selection) at fixed price per lbs. Good for take away or lovely dinning upstairs hosted by a real 'soul' man. Price value best around.

Now, not to be argumentative or anything like that but the restaurant (contrary to the other reviewer's opinion) is cute. No, it's not the Peacock but it's clean, comfortable, comfortably quiet, and it has an upstairs eating area that overlooks...well, skip that... it has a very sunny upstairs eating area and the cleanest restrooms you've ever seen. By the way, did I say that the food is tasty? Well, baby, it is! I had the homemade mac and cheese, fried chicken, ox tails, and candied yams, and it was all very delicious. And, here's the kicker in the julep - it was $6! I filled up for less than my car for a change. Manna's, darling, I love you.

Manna's restaurants have the best soul food in Harlem.
