Classy, Delicious, Authentic

I've been to Marcony twice - and both times my friends and I were treated like royalty. The owner, Marco, has carefully crafted a dining experience that feels intimate, looks expensive, and embodies the Italian warmth and charm. He chatted with us and explained the gorgeous chandelier: it's meant to mimic the splash of an anchor docking a boat by the isle of Capri. Are you kidding me?! If you notice the blue lizard, part of the logo, he'll tell you that it's one of a kind. They bask on the rocks in Capri, and if you spot one with a forked tail - well, that's good luck for life. (All of the lizards in Marcony have forked tails.) The service is attentive and the food is RIDICULOUS. Finish the meal with the homemade tiramisu. If I wasn't a poor grad student, I would eat here once a week.
good but not great

Made a reservation a week ahead of time for myself and my 15 year old daughter. Why do they always want to seat a twosome who took the time to make a reservation right by the kitchen? Menu was wide and varied but the specials were too numerous to remember past the initial telling and prices were not quoted for any of them. The service was attentive and topnotch. The wine selection was wide and varied and I tried something new that I really enjoyed. Ordered the Ravioli of the day which was apple and ricotta. Totally overpowered by the tomato sauce though. While it tasted good it certainly did not rate the $28.00 price. Nothing special. Okay - not great

Amazing Italian Food!

Marco has done an amazing job with his new restaurant! We knew him from dining at Scalinatella and he did not disappoint! The food was delicious and had a great presentation. The gnocchi with almond pesto sauce was excellent and the veal chop was cooked to perfection! The restaurant is decorated beautifully - the nymag description is very true...you feel like you're in Capri! Great job, Marco!
Attractive and delicious

A 7:30 midweek dinner reservation for 2. The first thing to strike us was the attractive room: widely spaced tables in a kind of intimate atrium room with upstairs tables on balconies. A quiet, immaculate setting with very attentive service. The food was delicious (for me, grilled risotto, veal chop with vegetables) and plentiful.A generous glass of Chianti and a very nice grappa. The evening was only slightly pricey, but very well earned indeed. An undoubted keeper.
