i decided to take a chance and visit miss lilys for brunch on sunday. to be honest, i didnt think i would get in (i heard the reservation policy is strict) but was pleased to find i didnt need a reservation for brunch. we got there right when they opened, 11:15ish am, and was instantly greeted by a lovely woman from Jamaica (or at least i assume so since it is a jamaican hut). i had the coconut pancakes and my boyfriend had the lobster sandwich. we were both 100% pleased with our food and our experience in general. the food was very fresh and tasteful (we almost stole the bottle of jerk sauce, but the waitress was eyeing us) the service was quite fast, but the restaurant was not packed. after all most people do not eat brunch that early on the weekend. over all i am glad we finally ate at lilys, looking forward to visiting again and checking out the rockhouse hotel. not hard to see what all the hype is about

Great Jamaican Food

At first I thought the prices were a bit high when I stopped into Miss Lily's, but now I know why - because the food is incredible. I visited for lunch this week with a few friends. The night before I stopped in for dinner but couldn't get in because I did not have a reservation, so we came for lunch the following day. As a frequent trraveler of Jamaica, I thought no one could make jerk chicken as tasteful the crew at Rockhouse, but I was incredibly impressed by the jerk sauce. Every one enjoyed their meal (we ordered a assortment of dishes - chicken, goat, burgers and sides) The space is cool too, very Jamaican. The place was so great that I plan to stop in for brunch this weekend.

Miss Lily's nailed it

Finally stopped by Miss Lily's last week to check the place out for myself. I made a reservation ahead of time (which is necessary for dinner but not to lunch) and was quite pleased by the experience I had. First of all, the ambience is what makes Lily's so incredible. From the amazing playlist, to the booths and old-school checkered floors, I felt transported out of NYC. The ladies of Lily's are unbelievably gorgeous, they have nailed the colorful style so often noted in Jamaica. The staff is a bit low, but we didn't mind. We were not rushing off to anything so it was nice to take our time. Now, on to the food - I tried the Vegetable Curry with a side of festivals and plantains. Loved every bite of my meal as did everyone else I was dining with. Warning, the jerk sauce is hot, very hot. For those who prefer hot sauce, they nailed it. I avoided the jerk chicken (as that is all I ever hear about at Lily's, I wanted to try something different) but those that tried it LOVED it. Same goes for the Curry Goat Miss Lily's is definitely a place I will recommend to others. A great place to take people who are looking to escape the insane crowds and the scene that often accompanies those crowds. Overall, a great place to chill out while enjoying some amazing food. Congrats to Serge and team, they have done it again.
