Read the comments and still went to Miss Mamie because, we heard the food was really good. It cost us $22 for a cab to get to Miss Mamie. Only we arrived at the restaurant we were met by a very nice hostess name Gabriel who sat as at a table. We sat for about 20 minutes; NO one ever came to the table to ask for our orders or drinks. We started asking other customers who were sitting at surrounding tables if, they orders had been taking. One table drinks had been order but, was still waiting for them. Another table said they came in before us and no one had waited on them yet. From what I could see I believe there were 3 waitress and several other people in the kitchen. The restaurant is not that big it may hold 20 tables. The female waitress was very nasty and would not even acknowledge us. She chassed around the restaurant complaining and rolling her eyes. When the male waitress came back out he was told by the other table that we had been waiting, his response was that’s not my table. That was it after 35 minutes we left. We caught a cab and went to another restaurant. $36 for cab fare and still have not eaten. I had to give the food a 1 because it would not let be post my comment. If the food is good, I will never find out.
Go to Dino BBQ, Dalls BBQ...ANYWHERE BUT HERE
By uwsresident on 6/16/2013
GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CLOSED. 30 minutes to be seated (arriving before 5pm). Arrived with 2 kids and, expecting a delay, we ordered 2 side dishes when the waitress arrived (15 minutes after we sat down). It took 30 minutes for our waitress to deliver drinks. Another 15 minutes to deliver the sides. That. Was. It. 1 hour and 20 minutes later, still no food. 3 tables had gotten up and left. Our blase waitress (friendly until we started getting restless, maybe she thought it was a garden party instead of her job) clearly thought Facebook was more important than getting up off her stool. And what was the most insulting was when, after ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES WITHOUT BEING SERVED, we approached the manager. He tried to blame their appalling, inexcusable service on someone forgetting to put in our order of fried chicken and told us that we were being impatient. Maybe the food would have been good. Wish I could have tried anything other than sides. Their arrogance and superiority have no place on this block. Shut. Them. Down. Go to Dinosaur BBQ, Go to Dallas BBQ. Go to Jacob's Pickles. Go anywhere but here.
Lunch at Miss Mamie's spoonbread
By lilly89 on 10/26/2012
I was passing by and saw an attractive Soul Kitchen, nice decor and soul music is playing from Mariah's to Whitney. Lunch poster is not so attractive, they're not specific about the price and what you are getting. So i asked the front desk if fresh lemonade is included but he is on the phone . Nobody greeted me at the door and nobody escorted me at the table and air was very warm. I find my way to look for a table waited for a long time for the menu and waitress look angry ,i did not get any smile. I ordered waited again for a long time, i need to go back to work.I think it's unacceptable to pay for a pricey lunch and get a crappy service.
