monkey bar is all about power and money. i dont think this restaurant is meant for people who is enjoying food. i meant im not saying food is bad i had couple of great apps. but most of them were too heavy, greasy and not flavorful. plus dessert was something i can find in whole food (maybe whole food might sell better desserts).

Nothing like the Waverly Inn, Monkey Bar is essentially a 50s cabaret bar with decent overpriced food. The menu is American (not Asian) and while the food is good, its not worth the price tag. It was mostly empty and I went on a Saturday night at 8 PM and anyone who was there was about 60+ years old. Service is great and the decor is interesting, but Monkey Bar has been hyped too much by certain magazines; you might as well go to Le Cirque for the price.

I heard there was a new chef at this bar favorite of mine and being a lover of upscale Asian food, I went to check it out. We got there early to have a drink at the fabulous bar and started with great appetizers. Then we sat down for dinner and had a great time. The food was great, some interesting twists on a few traditional dishes with some really wonderful flavor combinations. My one wish was for an equally delicious and interesting dessert, but maybe next time!
