As a regular diner in NY I am very familiar with restaurant quality and generally find ZAGAT a useful and reliable guide.
Montebello is grossly overated and should realistically rate an 18 or less for food not the 24 rating it has.
The service is average the food greasy, uninspiring, poorly cooked and presented and the decor is "tired" to say the least. This undermines the whole ZAGAT rating system.
