it's not one of the finest pizzerias in town, it's comparable to roberta's pizza in brklyn, and i can't even stand that pizza joint. yes, "hipsters" hang out at roberta's but be fully prepared to listen to their radio wine show, hosted by some loud mouth annoying hostess~ sound fun? Oohhh no..... it's not.

I''m not sure why this made it into the NY Mag restaurants review issue. Their pizza is small, meager and bland. Their salads are the same. The bill was alot and we left still hungry and unsatisfied.I tried it twice just to make sure the first visit wasn't a fluke. But we were sadly disappointed again. If you want an awesome tasty pizza go across the street to Barosa.

When we arrived we were told to seat ourselves, then sat at our table for 10 minutes (!) before being greeted...no hello, no menus, no water, no specials, no nothing. Did I mention that it wasn't even busy? It sort of just went downhill from there. So much staff standing around doing nothing that the hole thing was starting to feel like candid camera. Very weird.

If you do, be prepared for the staff to act like they've never seen a child in their life before. That said, definitely not kid friendly, food is okay but overpriced ($14 for a pizza that barely feeds one person), space is very unattractive, parking is a pain. All in all felt more midtown than Williamsburg.

Had the soppressata, the anchovies and the margherita DOC. The achovies and olives and capers pizza was salty but delicious, the soppressata was impressively ungreasy and the DOC was sweet. the crust was very puffy and chewy and charred in the right places. very fun to look at the oven and the people making pizza

Went here for the first time yesterday. (yes, after the NY Times review) It wasn't terribly busy, which was nice. We got the the simple mixed green salad to start, which was fine if a little over salted. I got the seasonal brussel sprout pizza, which was rich & delicious and stood up well considering the amount of toppings. My dinning companion got the pizza margherita DOC, which she thought was topped with too much oil. In fact her first piece was a bit soggy and floppy, but overall tasted quite good. The pizzas seemed reasonably priced at around $14 a piece. In fact the beer if anything seemed a bit expensive at $7 a bottle and since we both had 2 each our drinks cost as much as both of our pizza. It was a bit much for lunch/brunch, but worth it for a treat.

7 Slice rating from PizzaSnobo Motorino has been called the best pizza in New York and it's certainly one of our favorites. Both locations have a nice, friendly atmosphere, are well lit, and are great for small groups and families. The D.O.C. margherita pies ($14 for 12 inches) have balls of rich, smooth bufala cheese that burst with flavor and may be the best part of the pie. Or is it the fresh light sauce with just the right amount of tartness that we love so much, even as we wish for more of it? Or maybe it is the fantastic, puffy dough; soft chewy and charred to perfection with just a little bit of crunch that is the best part? Take your pick. This pizza comes together so well there is no denying that Motorino is one of the best on planet Earth. Even if it can be a little oily, it's the kind of oil we're happy to dip our bread into. There are plenty of specialty pies - such as the Pugliese with broccoli, sausage and garlic - though the choices are not overwhelming, which is another refreshing plus for this fantastic restaurant.
