Nice Matin has been a staple of the upper west side for years. Their wine list is incredible with their sommelier Avi always recommending excellent pairings. The food is always reliable as is the service. One of the main reasons I return is that the staff treats you like your king. The Front Door manager Eli is always so welcoming and accommodating it is a joy to return.

First of all waited long time for a late lunch when not really crowded at 2:30pm on a Tues. Ordered the Moroccan chicken salad. HORRIBLE! Tasted like fish and when asked about the Moroccan spices the waiter said...Well it's not really Moroccan chicken. But the menu stated Moroccan chicken sounded so much better in menu. Reason for the fishy taste maybe fish was cooked before the chicken from what I was told. My advice DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

It is way too loud. You cannot relax. You cannot hear your friends. and if you sit outside, there is a bustop with roaring buses. Also the chocolate desert pie thing = not good.

What a great place. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. My wife brought me here for our anniversary and it was the perfect spot.
A fantastic restaurant!

Nice Matin is one of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan. With it's great decor, fantastic value and delightful staff- this is a place to visit on the Upper West Side. Their maitre'd, Sarah, is always a gracious host with a beautiful smile! I would highly recommend Nice Matin for breakfast, lunch or dinner!!!

My friends took me out here for a birthday. The place is small, so you kind of feel cramped. And boy, do they turn up the heat on this place! The food was good overall. The portions are smaller, a la French Cuisine. Very fancy, with a coat check.
so much fun!

I always have a great time at nice matin.. best french fries in nyc. I can always count on the VERY knowledgeable waitstaff to guide me, and they're so good at what they do, sometimes I say "just surprise me". I'm never disapointed, and living 5 blks away, not only am I fortunate to frequent, but it is also my choice, especially when I have out-of-town guest.
Bad Service/Average Food

I live right next to Nice Matin, and have been there a handful of times. At first I really liked it and thought the food was amazing. However, the last two times I went it was just average. The hostesses are terrible during brunch. The last time we went, several groups of 2 were seated before my husband and I, who had arrived much later. They kept assuring us we were the very next on the list, but only offered to seat us when we told them we were leaving. I will not go back to wait forever for overpriced food.

From the disorganized wait staff to the overpriced, mediocre food, we were disappointed with every aspect of our meal at Nice Matin. For the prices, the food should be at least good, if not exceptional. The "Five Napkin Burger" was tasteless; the "Jardin Salad" -- their $9.75 house salad -- was bland. Of course, it serves me right for ordering a nearly $10 house salad. When we left without ordering dessert, our server said we were missing out. I feel confident we made the right decision.
Rude service, disgusting food

First of all, when I ordered a glass of white bordeaux, the waiter questioned the existance of such a thing. Well, there is and a french-speaking waiter at a french restaurant should know that. Secondly, the recommended appetizer of potato-smoked halibut gratin turned out to be disgusting. Gelatinous white cubed potatos, green peppers and three small pieces of smoked white fish sitting in a rancid cheese sauce. After one bite, we tried to return it, but the waiter just said "ok" and left. He eventually took it off the bill grudgingly.
