overpriced, bland brunch

With the wait at Clinton St Baking Co already an hour, just 30 mins after it opened, my friend and I headed to Nolita House. She had been there late-night, and so we were curious about the brunch. The selections were few - i.e. 4 different types of poached eggs but no pancakes! We both made very different selections and just weren't satisfied. The food was bland, tasteless. My egg casserole was overcooked and her sunny side eggs were too gooey. Furthermore, a lover of brunch, I felt that the prices were overpriced, regardless of the fact they included juice or a drink as many NYC brunch establishments do. My glass had more ice cubes than orange juice. It could have been frozen minute maid orange drink easily.

While the food and the atmosphere are good, the manager and service are not. Asked for a table near the window when I made a reservation and instead was seated somewhere else while the seating area near the window area was completely vacant. Was told the tables are for seating seventeen people when in actuality, each table seats two people separately and comfortably. Service was terrible. Main entrees took 30-40 minutes to arrive and the waitress disappeared for 15 minutes on end. She gave us the dessert menu and showed up 10-15 minutes later to take the order. The majority of the staff were in a corner talking and greeting friends of theirs who showed up instead of paying attention to paying customers. Very disappointed. After being a frequent customer, I won't be going there anymore.

Very, very good. Food was delicious, only problem was the wine was overpriced and hurt. The food was very good, but they make their money on the drink list though. Good stuff.

Good value for Brunch

Recently tried brunch here - it was a great meal and for good value. The wait was 30 mins, which I feel is standard for most brunch places. Coffee and water were refilled plenty and everyone was happy with their meal. The only problem was that we were rushed out at the end so another party could be seated. I'd probably still go back.

The food and service at Nolita has definitely gotten better with time. The salads, Nolita House salad with grilled chicken, my favorite, to the mac and cheese to the cheese plate all hits the spot with me and my friends. The brick over pizzas are nothing to ignore either. Great prices, really good wine choices and their friendly service goes a LONG way.
