I find it interesting that the first two reviewers didn't like this place, especially since it's ridiculously delicious and very casual. They called it "pretentious", which seems a bit interesting since it's a hole-in-the-wall with seating upstairs. Also, they both mention asking for steak well done, which shows how much they know about good food. This place is delicious. Go for the pulled pork sandwich or the pork belly special, although they're all good, even the vegan cauliflower sandwich. They also make a blood orange lemonade which is definitely worth a try. Sometimes finding a seat can be an issue, but you can always take your sandwich and go sit in Union Square. Very casual with fantastic food.

I don't write reviews, so excuse the brevity... But what is wrong with you people? This is one of the best sandwich places in New York, definitely the best near Union Square. I eat there weekly and have yet to be disappointed. The coconut shrimp and pork belly sandwich are favorites. The service is great, the sandwiches are inexpensive and incredibly tasty. This is the best take out in the neighborhood and I can't wait to try their restaurant.

Live right in the area, though my favorite vietnamese sandwich shops(and also the only ones worth going to) are Saigon on Mott and Broome (4. on average for a sandwich), and Nicky's on 2nd and A. On first sight this place is an eyesore, another wanna be trendy sandwich shop with a terrible color scheme and extremely tacky vibe. They will succeed because people don't care about all these things and will line up for fifteen minutes for an overpriced sandwich. I asked for a well done steak sandwich and when I thanked them for making it so they told me "You know you're ruining the flavor of the food" Thanks, well I won't go back, and neither should anyone. I'm tired of all these new places popping up in the neighborhood that get written up simply for the fact that they are new and there is nothing better to write about. Don't waste your time, support the real vietnamese sandwiches not people who are exploiting their traditional food (calling it cambodian when we really know what it is) and charging more than double for the same thing you can get elsewhere.

Having passed by this place a couple of times, I decided to give it a try. The small menu is overpriced and pretentious. The steak sandwich I got was very undercooked to the point that it wasn't edible, so the second time I went, I asked them to do the steak well-done. They said "We don't do that." Hence the fact that I will not go there again. Who won't cook steak for a little longer? I'm paying almost $10 for a sandwich on the street.
