I had the Burger Diamonds for Lunch which included a Caesar Salad, Tater Tots, glass of Chardonnay and three great burgers (Kobe, Filet Mignon & Sirloin) each with a different gourmet topping. It really was delicious! I was in NY on business and ate alone. The waitstaff was professional, nice and extremely courteous. This is my new favorite place for lunch!! The decor was beautiful. It is an old building in a revived area and furnished very nicely. Try it. It is great!

I saw the NY Post article Sunday morning, and had to give the new Kobe burger lunch a try - and absolutely loved it! I can't believe it was only $19 for the burger, sides, AND wine. It came with these really great tator tots (so much better tasting than what I'm used to from Mr. Subb), a Caesar salad, and I picked the Cabernet. There's a picture of the lunch on their website - take a look: www.theoldhomesteadsteakhouse.com

If you find yourself in the city and you are looking for an amazing meal, make your way into the meat packing district and stop at Old Homestead Steakhouse where the service is spectacular and the meat melts in your mouth! Kerry C. - Palm Beach, FL

Family celebrates various dates here about 6 or 7 times each year. Have never had a bad meal but once in awhile the waiter/waitress needs reminding. Reminding does not spoil meal and the Garlic Bread (alone) is good enough to get us in the door.

this place is not given its due credit. It is the TOP stakhouse in Manhattan and the only thing that comes close to comparing is Lugers. while most steak houses are suffering right now, you would think the recession doesnt exist inside the homestead

you don't hear much about the old homestead restuarant anymore , but it is the best steakouse in the city. it has a sort of cigar and big fight night [boxing] atmosphere without the smell.the food is great , my partner and i love the porterhouse for two, always cooked just right but you must start with the crabcake , pure crab!,or the shrimp cocktail, i have never seen shrimp this big. Don't forget the garlic bread, light like lady fingers only you may forget your manners when dunking into the creamy garlic sauce, to die for.Everthing is alacarte so don't forget the garlic mashed potato's, fried onions and creamed spinach. Sorry, we never seem to have any room left for dessert but if it's half as good as the dinner you will love it.

Hi, The Old Homestead is changing with the neighborhood. I enjoy their food and service. The outside cafe is a terrific place for people watching and the hamburgers are great (as my friends have told me). As for me the Tuna Burger is wonderful and rivals any that I've had.

Forget Peter Luger, The Striphouse, Morton’s and any of the other of the houses of more recent fame. If you are a true carnivore looking for the best steaks in NY this is the place. I am a Bronx native and Westchesterite who spends two weeks every other month working in NYC for my job which moved its headquarters to Boston after 9/11. During the last four years I have been eating at every chop house in the Apple and if you find a better cut of meat with the level of old world service that the Homestead can provide I haven’t found it. The atmosphere is dark and the wood paneling darker but if you want to eat like Bogey and Bacall did give this place a try. I recommend the Porterhouse.

The food was ok.The shrimp were huge and very good, the garlic bread was the best ive had,not so much the bread, but the garlic sauce you dip it in.But as far as the steak goes, for the price your paying,Peter Luger is much better.

You're an idiot if you don't get the mac and cheese.
