Try the ravioli with truffle ricotta in butter sauce. Just do it.

The best bolognese I have had since studying abroad in Italy. Overall, outstanding service and an absolutely delicious meal. 10/10!

I had lunch there today and it was really great. I was wary to go at night. I sat at a table two down from the hostess. We walked in off the street with no reservation at about 2pm. I started with the duck liver mousse, my mother had a nice salad, then I had the cappelletti, which is listed as a ravioli but is more like tortellini. It was really delicious. I highly recommend it - I was practically licking the dish. We also tried the cacciatore, and a glass of Lambrusco. Service was good, tiramisu was tasty - we had a nice time and would go again. Didn't step back into the main dining room but if it gets crazy at night, you can sit at the lower end of the bar near the charcuterie and Berkel.

Disappointing - Go to Peasant instead

I was very much looking forward to dining at Morini ever since it opened and I was disappointed. Although the meal was good, it was not great, especially considering the price. My major gripe is related to the wine list...there are no bottles less than $50. For the price of the meal ($225 for two people, including a bottle of wine, two appetizers, one pasta, two entrees, and gelato for dessert), dinner at Peasant would have been amazing rather than the good-not-great meal at Morini. I'm glad we tried it but definitely won't be going back.

As a fan of Michael White, I was so looking forward to a meal at this restaurant. After eating there, I regretted ever suggesting the place. While the maitre d' who greeted us was nattily dressed in a suit and tie, one of the hostesses seating customers was wearing a midriff top (revealing half her torso) and washed out jeans that hung so low, she had to keep yanking them up to hide her butt crack. Really? In a Michael White restaurant?? The dining room is ridiculously cramped, with tables on top of each other and tiny, uncomfortable chairs. The din was deafening--we had to shout to converse across the table. Overzealous busboys constantly refilled our water glasses, which annoyingly added to the crush. Our waiter on the other hand, was inattentive and overwhelmed: we had to get his attention to order drinks, ask him to explain specials, and, most upsetting, our entrees were served before we were given the opportunity to order wine! While the food was mostly delicious, the pasta portions were woefully small, while the meat entrees were enormous. I understand this is supposed to be a casual place, but with someone as great as Michael White at the helm, I expected a little more panache.

After hearing this place compared to Morandi, one of our faves, we were inclined to try it. This was a disappointment. For the price, the servings were very small. The meals were not horrible, but just average. The place is very loud and somewhat crammed- not exactly a great date place. I order Paella at many restaurants around the city and this one was by far the worst. Such a small dish it left me hungry and wanting to go to another restaurant and order a whole other meal. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

What a restaurant SHOULD be

The only thing I like more than a restaurant with good food is a restaurant with good service. The whole experience was just that much better because the host and hostess duo were friendly, and our waiter and bus-boy were helpful and kind. OSTERIA MORINI is the kind of place that reminds you expensive, delicious restaurants in New York don't have to be stuffy. The vibe inside is swanky with a touch of romantic, without being overly pretentious by any means. Now to the food-- Ok, portions are small. Very small. But the pastas and entrees (and the specials) cannot be beat. Truly a delicious find with that neighborhood feel to it, though you're right in the heart of trendy soho. Your stomach will not leave disappointed, I promise.

I really enjoyed my meal here and thought the service at both the bar and our table was quite good. I also enjoy a more loud, fun restaurant with lots of energy, so the atmosphere was right on for me. We ordered a quail skewer special, the pasta with sausage, and the porchetta and we left absolutely nothing on our plates. The sausage pasta was actually very light, which was a pleasant surprise for a potentially heavy dish. Overall, a realy enjoyable dinner.

I love this place! Pastas are amazing. I'm obsessed with the Porchetta. Managers always smile and say hi. Servers and bartenders know their stuff. I don't mind that it's crowded and loud because it's popular, who wants to eat in a morgue anyway?

Flavorful Food, Great Service

Don't know what the complaints about service are, my experience was excellent. Bartender was friendly, offered big pours. Waiter was attentive and efficient, food came out promptly. Overall really enjoyed the food, had the veal, lasagna, two other pastas and apps, were all satisfying and good portions. Only meh was dessert but that doesn't disappoint me too much. Espresso was unusually good and wine selection fine. It is a busy place but I found it boisterous in a good way - nice energy for a celebration. If you want an intimate dinner with quiet conversation go elsewhere but I thought the vibe was great.
