After what was a reasonably cozy meal in the beautiful garden, the evening was ruined for us by the incredibly rude manager / maitre d' -- he had already been snooty on the way in, but nice cocktails, a pleasant moroccan waiter, and reasonably good food made us forget. But towards the end of our meal the manager became aggressive, making us feel unwelcome, and when we questioned his behavior, we were floored to be told "i don't care what you think, this is my restaurant, so go home!" We were stunned, not least because we had rented the private room for a lot of money no more than 3 weeks earlier.... The owners would do well to relieve this man of his role. Until then, we will be happy to find another garden.

Its taken me 5 days to calm down enough to be able to stop my hands from shaking and physically construct this review. From the off i knew this 'eatery' was doomed. The waiter forgot what the specials were, and then forgot what we ordered.. i should have taken it as a sign of how unmemorable in taste the specials were from the waiter's forgetfulness, but silly little me ordered the ludicrously priced sardines (bland.. no flavour) at $17, and the grilled seabass (was i eating a brick or plastic.. not sure.. tastless.. at least a brick would have had a better consistency then this slop) which weighed in at a stupifying $34.. the waiter chose to warn me of neither price. My girlfreind had pasta swimming in chopped tomatos, she needed a straw to finish it. Nice decor though.. but it would have to be as nice as the Ufizzi to get me back through those doors again.

I found the service to be so terrible that it was dfficult to find joy in anything else at the restaurant. The Maitre'D was incredibly rude - he rang the woman in our party that had booked our table at 9PM the night before we were to dine there asking if he could move our reservation back a half hour. When she said that it was not possible he said to her "Fine, then I'll just give you a bad table"! He was then outwardly rude to us and kept us waiting for 30 minutes and refused to seat us (as we waited for one person in our large party) while our table just sat there next to us, empty. The waiter was quite inattentive as well. As for the food - the appetizers were pretty good but our entrees were all terribly mediocre.

The decore of Palma seemed a little barebones when we peeked into the windows, but it reminded us both of our honeymoon in Sicily so after doing a little hunt and peck on Cornelia Street we decided to give Palma a go for dinner. The selection of fresh seafood continued our stroll down memory lane, especially the zuppa di pesce. My husband picked a Greek wine from the well priced list and we decided to indulged in three appitizers. No dipping sauce needed for the tender calamari. They're the freshest we've tasted in the city!! The osso buco was seasoned perfectly and served with fantastic creamy polenta. For dessert we shared a terrific coconut brulee and perfect espressos. The service was attentive for such a busy night. We left feeling Palma had put a spark of the "magic Mediterranean" back into our souls. Highly recommended!!!

The good news is that the food was pretty good. I had the sea bass, by companion had the swordfish, both were flavorful and well prepared. The sea bass was the entire fish, so it was a bit of work to pull out all the bones, and the menu did not metion it came this way, but the quality was good. The sides were slightly bland(broccoli rabe), and appetizers averge. The service, however, left much to be desired. Its a small space, but the night we were there (Wed night), the place as 3/4 empty. Every time we wanted anything, we had to wave down the waiter. It took the waiter about 10 min before he even approached the table to take a drink or food order, and that only happened after we waved him down. And, the waiter had major attitude. On top of that, there were a couple kids, who appeared to be related to someone working there, running amok through the restaurant, which does not help the atmosphere. Perhaps it was a bad night, but I have little reason to return. Which is a shame as the food was good and the place is a decent value.

Went to Palma for a business dinner. I did not know what to expect. The Food was wonderful. The Zuppa di Pesce was excellent. Mussels, clams, scallops, calamari and Shrimp in a tomato broth with a crisp crust baked on top. DELICIOUS! The restaurant gives the feel of summer by the beach in Italy.
