I've eaten lots of Thai in NYC and this is one of the worst places to eat Thai food! Its oversalty, and they served me only bamboo shoots in a veggie curry! I paid extra money for babycorn and there were 4 pieces in all......
Their online menu is old, so beware, the prices are much higher than stated online (a nasty shock for me when i ordered worth 50 bucks online and the bill given to me was for 80!!)
The person on the phone was very rude when i complained and even went on to state that i am lying!
I would deifnately not order from there again, there are plenty of good thai places within 20 feet of this place....
Thanks SF

It's good and it's cheap. What more can I say. I'll spare you any more detailed review of the food. Just go. Eat. Enjoy....

In fairness, all I ordered was shrimp pad thai to go, so my experience may not be indicative of the considerably broad range of dishes offered. But it was the most cloyingly sweet/sour pad thai I have ever had the displeasure of tasting: the vinegary sweetness was so pungent I could barely breathe in. The dish had a total of 5 shrimp, and cost $8.75. Based on this experience, I would not return.

We decided to go there even after having read the reviews of the people.
I'm not the kind of person to complain and i'm usually always happy.
The food I ordered was recomended by the NY post and another one, and it was simply dissapointing.
I've been to thailand and this is not what I ate over there (it's definitely americanised)
there are so many better Thai restaurants in NY! and for the same price, you'll have waiters who smile

I went to Real Pam on 10/31/2008 with my brother and his wife. We ordered 3 different dinners and there was hardly any chicken or for that matter any food in the dinners. I complained to the owner who stated to me that times are tough and his prices are low. He was very rude and disengenious. Well i was looking for a nice meal, and to have an attitude like that i was dismayed. I wasn't asking for a lowering of the check i was just trying to help him since im a loyal customer. Then the cook came out of the kitchen and was even ruder to me than the owner himself. Please check out your meal portions if you ever go there. I will never go back given the treatment i recieved. In my opinion these people are out to make money and do not care about their customers. I would rather pay more for a good meal than get screwed out of a good night. Remember check out your dinner portions.

BAD ATTITUDE STAFFS

Good food, reasonable price, but the staff talk bad behind your back, in THAI. If you don't understand THAI, then you don't know, too bad i do. Staff refers to customer as "IT", like an object or animal. Surprisingly, other staffs also tolerate this practice. If you can, bring a THAI-ENGLISH dictionary with you. You might find yourself being talked about badly. As a Thai, I am so ashame of their attitude. No matter how good the food is, bad attitude and disrespectful to customers can ruin your appetite easily. Sorry, but I will not going back to Pam Real Thai again.

...because Chef Pam's food is the closest thing to Thailand on this island! Every dish is simply prepared yet full of flavor, unlike the dumbed-down stuff you'll find at every other Thai place in New York. All the 'usual' favorites are present on the menu, but if there's one dish that's an absolute must-try, it's the obscenely delicious oxtail soup. Only about $11 and big enough for two (unless you're selfish like me), it's easily one of the city's best bargain meals. Add in some laab salad and anchovy rice (not as fishy as it sounds), and you have the makings of a mini-trip to Thailand, at least for your tastebuds. Run, don't walk!

My wife and I honeymooned in Thailand and ate our way through the place. We love Thai food and have searched all over Manhattan and NJ for those authentic flavors. Other places have come close or have good individual dishes but Pam Real Thai is it. Look no further! We have been coming here since before the interior renovation and before the NY Times review and it is as good as the first day we came. We hope they never change. Our favorites are Pad Prik Duck, Ginger Shrimp, the whole fish, the squid salad, the anchovy rice, the soups. We should try more dishes but love our usuals. Service is casual but friendly. The restaurant is crowded and the dishes come as ready but feels just like Thailand so it does not bother us at all. They had better not change. We go often and hope you stay away so we can get a seat!

Even though it was busy, we were seated quickly. We had drinks and yummy spring rolls within 5-10 minutes of sitting down. The entrees followed quickly and were delicious. Our water glasses were refilled often and we weren't rushed out the door after we finished eating. The Crispy Duck in Pad Ginger Sauce was great and lived up to its name. My friend said the Rama Platter she ordered was the best Thai food she's ever eaten.
Will definitely be back.

Pam is not exaggerating! This is REAL, real Thai food... I am very difficult to please when it comes to real Thai... and in fact have resorted to doing it myself whenever I crave spicy, tummy burning, eye watering mouth wateringly delicious Thai food, real Thai style. Pam is a no frills place, all you get is very authentic Thai food. And she will make it spicy for those with high tolerance or mild... in either case, the taste is not muted. Very affordable. I have loved everything I have had here but you can always judge a Thai restaurant by its Pad Thai and its red curry chicken. Personally, Yum Woon Sen and morning glory are my favorites but you can't go very wrong with anything from Pam!
