that people's perceptions and opinions about any restaurant very greatly. Some will love a particular place and some will hate it, depending of course on their own individual experience. This certainly seems to be the case with "Panca".....it is so hard sometimes to make up your mine because of these different opinions, the only thing I will say to those thinking about visiting "Panca" (or any other restaurant for that matter) is, always listen to the majority of good reviews (versus the minority of bad ones) and most of the time you will be correct, I know I will. Bon Appetite!!

My favorite Peruvian in Manhattan - been there 3 times now.
The ceviches/tiraditos have always been excellent (of the 6-7 I've tried).
Had a couple of their soups this evening for the first time (one was the Chupe de Camarones) and both were delicious.
By comparison: Some (but not all) of the food I had during my one week of food adventures in Lima was better, but not by much.
My only semi-disappointment there was the Arroz con Pato (Rice/duck) which was a great balance of interesting spices and rich duck meat, but slightly on the dry side.

Hands down the worst meal I've had in NYC .Everything was covered with this mayo sauce and the ceviche don't even come close to being ceviche, execpt for the fact that lime is an ingredient, not even close.About the service , we were seated, it took about 20 minutes for anyone on staff to acknowledge us on bring us water.Another 10 minutes later we were able to flag someone down to order food and some sangria. We sat anxiously for 45 as we waited for our appetizers... so screw this place .There are far too many other, better options in Soho than this place...

I went to panca for the first time last year and i was really impressed, the taste and presentation of every single dish we tried was totally amaizing i will recommend the tiradito trio, the conchitas a la parmesana, the causa, and pretty much every single plate, my wife and 4 years old daugther love the place, verry cozy and great service every time we can we take the 45 min ride to enjoy the good peruvian food that makes me feel back home. It's a must go place , try the tapas, and the maracuya sour. AAAA++++++ to the Chef and Crew.

We went to this restaurant on a Sunday, there were only four tables and it took them an hour just to bring the appetizers... The Entrés were OK, one was good, the other one the sauce was to salted, we couldn't eat.
I am not going back.

Took my peruvian friends from Germany and Michigan to a restaurant chain at Time Square. we paid 30 dollars for just a hamburger with french fries and soda or ice tea.
Next day went to Panca!!!! we felt like being at home. Food, price and service extraordinary, we ate a lot. we even have dessert!!!! we had appetizer: choritos a la chalaca!! and Anticucho (grilled marinated cows heart ), main dish : lomo saltado, chupe de camarones (shrimp soup) and arroz con pollo (rice and chicken cooked with cilantro), peruvian soda Inca Kola and Peruvian drink Chicha Morada made of purple corn. cocktails :Pisco sour and algarrobina: delicious! dessert: sample of Alfajor, Tres leches and Lucuma puddin! good music and the best of all ....we paid 40.00 each!!! compare this with the 30.00 we paid the night before! Very good portions, in fact, the appetizer would have been enough .
Guys, thanks for giving me the chance of taking my friends to such a great peruvian restaurant! it was fantastic!!! we had a great time! Peruvian food is one of the greatest of the entire world! Go to Panca!!!! You wont be dissapointed!

I love Panca. They have the best causa I have ever had, that trio killed me. I crave it every day. I also liked the jalea, cebiche and pisco sour, very good quality and tasty food. Thanks Panca!!!

Loved it! Recommended by Peruvian friends. As good as eating in Lima. Casual place, nothing fancy... very honest, down to earth atmosphere. Very nice place and good service.
