This restaurant has terrible food. The staff did not seem to have a strong grasp of english. 4 of us used credit cards that we split evenly 3 ways with the extra going on the 4th card. This proved to be way more than they could handle. We were captive there for over an hour while they tried to figure out how to do this and kept asking again and again for our cards. They finally offered us a free shot each after a long time but we felt, by that point, it was way too little too late. They promised us we were not being charged doubly or triply. When we got our credit card bill it turns out we were all 4 double charged with different amounts each time. One of us was even charged 180 dollars (each should have been about 26)!!! The staff seemed annoyed at us for wanting to split cards rather than apologetic about the situation. All for bad ambience and bad food. Now we are fighting with them to get the money returned to our cards!

Go to eater.com to see discussion of change of name, etc. They are a Ceviche place and don't do the Rotisserie chicken anymore.

As a Peruvian, I've had a taste of the original Pardo's chicken in Lima. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that one would be opening here in NYC. The recipes have translated perfectly to the American franchise and I can honestly say that everything I ate: chicken, yuquitas, anticuchos, suspiro a la limena, dulce de tres leche was made to perfection. Same goes for the Pisco Sour, a traditional Peruvian mixed drink. Sorry yes, there are no martinis on the menu but should you really expect them to be? If you're open-minded, you'll be pleasantly surprised at what they can whip up at the bar. You also can't beat the value, considering traditional Peruvian cuisine costs an arm and leg at other Manhattan restaurants. The decor could use some improvement but from speaking with the manager, that's on their list for things to do. As for the staff, they were all very pleasant and helpful. If you're in the area, skip the touristy spots and head to Pardo's!

I've been to Pardo's in Lima, Peru and I never thought that the flavor and quality of this chain could exist here in New York. I gotta say, the chicken is AMAZING, the anticuchos make any peruvian proud and the sides are finger-licking good. Not to mention that this is technically a fast-food restaurant and they still give you plenty of choices for drinks, of course geared towards the peruvian more than the american, it really gives you a chance to step out of the ordinary and order a Pisco Sour which I have to say is so hard to find a restaurant that will make a good one and this one is really good! It's worth the money for the food and service (which was outstanding when I went there with 7 other people on a friday night). They have to work on the decor a bit but they've only been open for about a month so I'm sure they'll work all that out in due time. As long as the food is good, then I'm a happy camper!

The service was awful...It took about 20 minutes to get half of my order...then i got the wrong one...Different waitresses attend the tables that causes chaos in the whole Restaurant...The experience was not pleasant. In Addition, one of the waitresses was preparing "Chicha morada" (peruvian drink) on top of the bar counter using a plastic backet...it was not good at all to do it in front of everybody...The place is small but very disorganized. About the food: the chicken was really good but the rest explained above turned off all my plans to go back again to pardo's.

The Peruvian chicken at this chain really IS as good as you have heard. Its excellent. I recommend you order the yuquitos, but skip the bland incan corn. The service was friendly but ineffectual. I wanted to hug our pretty waitress for trying and smiling so much. You cannot make this up: were told we could not order a martini. A martini!? What is New York City coming to? My dinner companion and I pointed at the remodeled bar where we could clearly see 1) martini glasses and 2) top-shelf vodkas lining the back wall, but were still denied. That said, I will return again and again: the chicken really is amazing. -Dylan Pass
