I'm usually not comfortable sitting at the bar by myself but the bartender made me feel at home. When I first walked in, the lights were very low and it was kind of quiet, but after awhile several other tables arrived and things picked up. I had the Park Blue mojito, which is now my favorite drink. It's made with dark rum and bitters and is a much better version than a classic mojito. When my friends arrived, we decided to stay at the bar and order food. The octopus was great, and so were the cheeseburgers. The steak was good, but it was a little fatty. We ended up trying several other specialty cocktails, but the mojito remained my favorite. As a single woman, I would sit at the bar by myself anytime and feel completely comfortable.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a new spot with great food and wine and a friend recommended Park Blue. The half bottle wine list is incredible (we had a beautiful Riesling followed by a Rhone), and the service was pleasant and attentive; never pushy. We had several small plates as the evening progressed, but the veal meatballs and truffle mac and cheese stood out- they were tasty and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was lively but not overcrowded and we hope it stays that way! We have found a great regular spot and we've already been back twice since our first visit.

We arrived on the early side for dinner and ordered drinks and a number of small plates. After the drinks were served, our waiter disappeared and the food was served at a painfully slow pace. After an hour and a half without receiving our final plate and inquiring on the status of our order, we left. The manager refunded us for the unserved plate, but was fairly unapologetic and made excuses for the poor service. The food that was actually served (especially the mac and cheese) was good.

My wife and I visited the Park Blue based on the reviews posted here and while we both agreed that the food was very good - the sauteed scallops with lentils and crispy bacon was sensational! - we feel that it was at least as pricey if not more so than any "tourist trap" in the area. On the plus side, the wine list was very good - an exceptional selection of pinot noir's - and the decor was intimate, although the lighting was especially poor. Overall I rate it a 7, but be prepared to spend considerably more that the $$ indicated.

The small plate menu is varied and interesting. The food is great. I really enjoyed the potato gnocchi with shortribs and the mushroom risotto. Other guests of mine loved the grilled shrimp skewers and the crispy skin duck leg. A couple or three of the small plates should satisfy even the hungry among your group. Their wine list is broad and had a nice selection of price ranges but remember, they only serve half bottles. Last Thursday I took a group of nine clients for dinner and everyone had a great time. I took my wife and two children (10 + 12) back the next night , Friday, and they loved it too. They don't normally encourage children after about 7pm on the weekend, but they were accommodating and sat us in the back which is quieter. Between the two nights we tried most of the menu. Based on the comments from my guests and family most items ranged very good to excellent with only a few items rating merely good. I will return to Park Blue the next time I am back in the City.

It's hard to find a gem in midtown that has not been tourist-ified, but Park Blue is just that. This little niche under the hotel is my regular go-to for drinks or quick bite after work. The atmosphere is sleek, cozy and comfortable (wide, couch-like seats for ideal lounging experience). I'm a fan of dim lighting, but for the white light seekers, go elsewhere. Menu wise, the wine list is the starring attraction - extensive in size (especially if you're looking for a half bottle) and wine variety. Food is well-done, although more of a complement to the vino in my opinion. The best dishes I've had are the scallops (a must have), mushroom risotto, and vegetable side (well soaked in garlic and parm cheese). The only complaint I am logging is the service, which can be spotty. But as long as you are not shy about flagging the waiter's attention, they are quick to respond
