Great Bar Atmosphere, Disappointing Meal.
By ElizabethJane on 1/14/2012
At first glance I was highly impressed by The Park. An open and warm space complete with a fireplace, white lights, and attractive green leather booths. I was drawn to the Hendricks Mash cocktail because of my love of gin and it was a crisp and delicious. Well worth the $12. Unfortunately the meal should have stopped there. I ordered the Butternut Squash Ravioli with Baby Spinach and Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with a side of the Park French Fries. The ravioli was undercooked and the filling was bland. It sat in a sauce which had a texture similar to a gazpacho topped with chunks of awkward squash and chewy pumpkin seeds. While the fries were moderately priced for the portion, they was clearly freshly frozen out of the bag. If you are coming to town with a large group of people and are in the mood for fun cocktails then I highly recommend The Park but strongly discourage the food.

Great atmosphere outside at night
Beautiful and Delicious

I've been a handful of times and have always had a fantastic experience. The menu is great, the food is delicious and the surroundings are truly beautiful, especially in the garden. Anyone can have a bad day, but, for my part, I've never experienced anything except lovely service. It's hard to ask for more. If you enjoy a cocktail, arrive a few minutes early and have one at the bar and enjoy expert mixing and a friendly atmosphere. I haven't had anything on the menu that I haven't liked, but The Park French Fries deserve special mention - worth every calorie, for sure.
Fantasy surroundings, good food, great night

This place is out of this world: one of the most beautiful restaurants in New York. I'm shocked by the poster who keeps posting that they ruined a birthday celebration (tip off it's the same person: she keeps making the same grammar mistakes.) That doesn't sound anything like the Park I know. The service is courteous, the food is good, and the gardens are magical. Don't let some crackpot keep you away.
one of the most horrible service and the manager, well she should be fired!

I called in and got the run around. i wanted to teach the manager some proper phone skills because she talked to me like I was a kid. I wanted to do something nice for my sisters birthday party and got insulted. It was sending flowers. anyway the food was horrible I couldn't finish it. Getting a drink was impossible. Its was such a waste of money and a big mistake going there.
Terrible waitress & even worse manager

Out waitress (Candice) really ruined a birthday event that myself and 7 other friends were looking forward to. Seated by 8:10pm, we did not receive drinks until after 9pm and after most of our entrees were served. One guest asked for olives on a pizza that were not added-we then requested olives repeatedly after the original mistake & they never showed up. When asked if we could sub grilled asparagus for the warm white bean salad that accompanied the sea bass our waitresses exact words were "no, we don't sub stuff like that, that shit is expensive." Furthermore-we ordered two bottles of wine, and upon bringing them over to the table (mind you after we had sat with no drinks for 45 minutes and already had our entrees) she suggested we pour for ourselves because "there were so many of us" just 8 to be exact. The manager did not even attempt to rectify the situation at all-after she promised to replace our server with someone better our original waitress still frequented our table asking us repeatedly if we needed the check. This was by far my worst NYC restaurant experience-and that is quite unfortunate, as I have enjoyed meals at The Park in the past. I will not be returning again soon, or ever.
Prepared for the worst, instead got some good

Okay, bad title. So my friends were having their engagement brunch here (we like to brunch for any occasion) and my friend K picked it out. When I learned where we were going I immediately came to this site, as well as Yelp and Menupages and saw HORRIBLE reviews. So I took a deep breath and told myself I would just solider through the brunch and it would be something we could laugh about later. I was pleasantly surprised to experience the opposite of (most) of the bad reviews. Once our party arrived we were seated promptly. Our food came in good sized portions and no one had any complaints about the taste. I had the smoked salmon platter/bagel thing and it was good, just enough cream cheese and very filling. Everyone who got the pancakes and french toast loved them. The crab cake benedict was also heralded a success. All in all the food was good. My only complaints: the cups could have been a bit bigger, but they kept us filled with water so that was not too big of an issue. The service was a bit slow, there were extended periods of time we did not see our server so if you are wanting a quick bite, this might not be the place (but as a group of 7 who love to hear themselves speak, this was a plus as we never felt rushed to leave and could continue to talk and talk and talk). I would definitely go back and would recommend this place. I went in expecting to have a horrible experience and ended up going away with a pleasant one.

Well, I reserved at the park for myself and 5 friends to have brunch, as the menu really did look lovely! We all arrived ontime to an overcrowded lobby of sticky, screaming children in strollers or just wandering around. We checked in and waited, waited waited for our table (about 40 min.). When we finally sat, our waitress was very nice, but our food came out a good hour later, and we had this hour in which to take in the atmosphere (which would have been nice if the floors hadn't been so dirty, the bussers hadn't been so dirty (ew!) and there had not been two roaches in the ladies restroom)! Perhaps the Park began with good intentions, but something has DEFINITELY gone amiss. Too bad!

I went with a friend and had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Our food came in on time and the sangria was delicious! The ambiance was very cozy and comfortable despite the large size. I will definitely stop by again. This is a great place to go out with a group of friends before going out. Great drinks, great location by the meatpacking district, and a great atmosphere!! A+++!!!
Forget it if you're on your own

Looked great from the outside - particularly the outdoor courtyard with many empty tables. As a sole diner, the only table offered was inside along a long empty wall. I declined. Not good.Needless to say me and friends not be coming back ...
