The food is mediocre and overpriced; and although the decor is nice, The Park is banking on its exclusivity - and it seems like it's already on its way to has-been-land.

The Park is an uber-hip oasis in Chelsea with several dining rooms to choose from. Best to go with friends or other interesting people because the food leaves a lot to be desired. I got sucked in with the foie gras (dry) and grilled lobster tail (dry) and they were out of Sauternes so I could barely wash it all down! The ambience almost entirely makes up for the dearth of culinary talent....or did I just order the wrong thing?

I found out about the park through New York Metro and decided to try it out with my boyfriend. The food and space are wonderful, but the crowd is composed of yuppies. Not a good date spot on Sat. nights. However, there was a lot of bodyguards that night, so there must have been a few celebs if you're into star sightings. I recommend the endive and watercress salad w/stillton cheese and walnuts, and also the blackened catfish. I'd go back with a few girlfriends, maybe.

I am amazed at how this place is still around. Before it was a great club on the weekends. The food is very bland, and overpriced, especially the brunch menu.

While the food is not where it should be, the space is great. We were there to have dinner in the "garden" area. The "garden" is a glass roofed (probably 30 feet above)area which has the entire front open when the temp is right. It feels like you are eating outside even though you are actually covered.

Jose is the new manager and he has done wonders for the efficiency and attentiveness to customers at this moderate, casual restaurant. We had tickets to the Joyce and upon reserving he promised to get us out on time. We arrived a bit early, were seated immediately and the hostess said--without prompting--that she knew we needed to be out on time. Every course went smoothly and we had time for dessert as well. The wonderful greehouse atmosphere, brick floors, with the tall trees illuminated with tiny lights makes it a romantic getaway. Tables widely spaced for privacy. Don't miss the "small plate" crab cakes with the mango chutney! We have come here for 5 years, family birthday parties, with our without children, with artist friends and now our 30's children come here with their friends. What's new is the marvelous focus on service. Grab a cab and get to 17th and 10Ave!

Subject line says it all. Waitresses acted like they didn't even want to be there. Then the tip was included on the bill, and let's just say the had a real high opinion of themselves.

I have returned here many times. The atmosphere is relaxing, especially the garden room. The food is great. The only downfall is the service. It is slow. Very slow. If you are in a hurry this is not the place to go. But if you are entertaining guests, this is perfect.

I went here for dinner and was extremely disappointed. Food was terrible, even the drinks! The sangria came in a pint glass and looked and tasted like it was made from a bottled mix. My boyfriend ordered a coke and it came in a 4 oz. juice glass. Salmon was bland and vegetables extremely oversalted. Filet mignon was just terrible (looking and tasting.) Overall the food tasted like the entrees you would get from a Fridays or Applebees except $20 more. The atmosphere, however, is quite pleasing. The Park = nice to look at, bad to eat at.

The web-site of the restaurant makes it quite appealing and modern. When you actually go there, it is far less shiny and attractive. Tables are old and chairs are uncomfortable. We were a group of nine and they sit us around a round and square table put together! It was impossible to have a conversation with the other side of the table. In addition, the music is so loud that you cannot speak. Food is worse than McDonald! Same quality, smaller portions. I had a food poisoning after dining at The Park. I order salmon and it was not cooked at all! Raw fish, and you are not even in a Japanese restaurant! Drinks are terrible, and the wine selection is poor! If you want to organize a cheap party, do something at home instead. Your guest are going to be happier (and healthier)!
