if you like to be betlittled, this is the place to go. after a decade of living in nyc, the first time i refused to leave a tip. they practically ruined our birthday celebration with the rudest behavior ever by a waitstaff. we had 5 people at a table for 6, and when a sixth friend joined us a little while later, we were yelled at and harassed for taking up space that apparently wasn't ours. unfortunately we had already ordered our food, so we waited it out for the most mediocre, overpriced italian food in nyc. we quickly ate what we could stomach so we could be out of there as soon as possible. the manager was not apologetic or helpful at all. will never go back and encourage everyone to stay away.

Don't go for the pizza, it's tasteless. If you have a weak stomach don't order the chicken, it still has it's feet attached, totally took my appetite away, besides there was no meat on the bird and it was bland. Managed to drop $200 for four with only two glasses of wine, and no dessert! I went home and raided my refrigerator!

It took over an hour and half to be served our meal, my risotto was crunchy, and the waitress was pretentious. Atmosphere was nice, but I'll never go back.
Pretty Restaurant - Terrible food and service

Our reservation was at 7:30, we were seated at 7:45 and served our meal at 9:30. Unacceptable! The waitress kept telling us our food was being plated, and upon looking at a full restaurant, there was no one with food on the table. Risotto was undercooked and all were underwhelmed. Nice atomosphere is the only thing going for this place.
Worst dining experience ever

We had a reservation but weren't seated for 55 minutes. When we finally were seated, they told us the pasta guy was backed up, so we should expect to wait 45 minutes for anything from that part of the kitchen. Basically, anything that is any good is made by that guy. The food was fair. The manager was indifferent. I don't think we should have paid for the meal, it was that bad.

Not pleasant, just peasant. Had a second rate meal here in every respect and would not go back.
Terrible service & experience with Manager

Mediocre food - not worth the rude service. We arrived on time for an 8pm reservation for 7 people, after being warned of a $25/person charge if we were late/did not show. When we arrived our table was not ready and there was no eta. After inquiring about downstairs, we were offered a tiny bench-like table. After seeing a nicer table, with at least chair backs for our older guest, we were told that table was reserved for at 9pm. What is particularly disappointing is that our party was not treated the same way as other parties- the manager rewarded us with a mere shrug and comment "what do you expect me to do?" What I expect is that mgmt be held to the same standards they require of their patrons - when the earlier party arrived late, why were they not told that the table was reserved for a party coming in at 8pm as we were told that we could not have a table reserved for 9pm? I can only assume that my party was not "hip enough" in the contrived look the other patrons seemed to be sporting...

My friends and I had a reservation at 8 and were running late. Our confirmation said they would hold the reservation for 20 mins but when we called to say we would be late they said they would only hold the reservation for 15 mins. We arrived at the restaurant at 8:15 pm only find that they gave away the table a few mins before and would not seat us for 1 1/2 hrs. This would have been fine but the attitude from the maître d' that went along w/ it was appalling. I'm sorry you are not all that and a bag of chips, you are the maître d' as some adequate restaurant on the LES. I have attended many 5 star restaurants that were less snobby than this place. Although I am sure the food is not as bad as the service (even McDonalds would have been better) you could NOT pay me enough to go back.
biggest disappointment I can remember...

While the food was bad...amazingly, the service was way worse. First, had the octopus and pizza as an app, both were ok. Actually I guess the pizza was good. We then had the entree special...zuppa de pesce - was beyond terrible. The waitress recommended it, the fish had a good amount of bones in it...? Authentic, I can appreciate - choking hazard I cannot. impossible. Who genuinely likes fish w/a ton of tiny bones in it? Complete turnoff. The lasagna was marginal, the spaghetti w/ clams was simple at best. For dessert we tried the bread pudding which ended up being a fried ball of grease. What trumped everythign was the terrible sevice. The waitress didnt even bother to ask how the food was. She was extremely rude when we confronted her about her lack of attention to our table and was borderline confrontational. Had one of the runners get us a round of drinks, because she was no where to be found for over twenty minutes. Her attitude was unbelievable throughout the whole dinner. Best quote from her (steffy maybe?) once we confronted her was a condescending..."i'm sorry i made your night awful" and she walked away. Overall, this was the worst dining experience ive had in nyc, and Ive lived here for over 10yrs and dine in comparable restaurants at least once a week.

The worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in New York City. First time I've gotten up and walked out. The service, simply put, was atrocious. It took 20 minutes just to receive our cocktails. Server was nowhere to be found. Lame excuse from the manager - "the bartender ran out of glassware." That's a new one. Then, our starters simply never arrived. After 30 minutes of waiting and trying to flag down our server the manager came over again and apologized for "getting it wrong again". Just walked out at that point. Absolute disaster. If I had the server's name, I'd warn you against getting seated in her section. But I'm sure the food is wonderful.
