Good, if you aren't vegitarian

I went with some friends, one of who is vegetarian, and we learned that just because you ask for tofu does not mean you're getting a vegetarian dish. The waiter told us the only things that were actually vegetarian were a couple of appetizers. Everything else was cooked with some fish sauce. Other than that, the ambiance was nice, and the waiter was very helpful and friendly. The food was also good, but a little overpriced (I've had much better Thai food for less). Just don't go if you're veg.

THE BEST FOOD, THE BEST SERVICE, POLITE AND GREAT WAITERS. I LOVED IT, THE FOOD WAS READY FAST AND IT WAS GREAT. I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE THAT WANTS A HIGH CLASS, GOOD , CUMFY RESTAURANT WITHA GREAT ENVIRONMENT PLUS EXTREMELY CHEAP.

My dining experience here has gotten progressively worse. To be fair, I have tried it three times. The dimly lit eye wash decor does a good job of distracting you from how filthy the dinning area and rest rooms are. The food is quite average, nothing different from the many other fusion Asian wannabe restaurants. Over time, what has gotten worse is the poor attitude of the wait staff and their ability to nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING, even a glass of water with a wedge of lemon. One thing for sure, the attitude is on the house.

I love this place. It was reccommended to me several years ago and I have not found a better deal since! Great food, great atmosphere, great drinks....all for extremely reasonable prices. The drinks are where they getcha, however..... Great lunchtime spot. Enjoy!

Weekends are filled with loud music, and an annoyingly crowded bar. And speaking of the bar, I always get peeved by the hot-pink barstools. In anycase, the wait for a seat can get long, but usually reasonable. However, come during the day, sit for a lunch, and you'll leave happy--ready to keep on shopping. The ice Thai tea tastes just like it should, everytime. The curry, solid and never watered down. The rice comes out shaped in a rectangle, and usually on a piece of banana leaf. The calamari comes with a great dipping sauce, or two. As much as I enjoy coming here, I just say that the quality of their food can vary, for reasons unknown. I've been absolutely blown away by the flavors a few good times, but I've also unhappily left as well. The only thing that never lets me down? The voyeuristic bathroom.

Amazing Food for the price

I accidently found this restaurant in SoHo and it is by far my favorite place to eat in manhattan. The food is great and the prices can not be beat (complimentary appetizers during lunch hours). This could be one of the most underrated places to eat in NYC.

I discovered Peep during a Sunday afternoon stroll with my friends. We were impressed by it's style and decor as well as by the manager, who was very warm and friendly. I reserved a table for 9 on the telephone for the following Thursday evening. Later, I called and changed the number of people to 14. When we arrived on Thursday evening, the restaurant was jam packed. We tried everything including begging and eventually had to leave after an hour's wait. Next door, we had a great meal and everyone in our group was accomodated. The food at Peep smelled nice but chaos reigned. The staff was clearly overwhelmed. Even drinks at the bar were not possible. The plusses continue to be the nice manager, excellent decor and the kiwi margarita. Inexplicably, the place was closed by midnight, although it had been completely full at 9pm. I am still curious but wary!!!

Peep is a great little oasis among the usually chic but overpriced restaurants that populate SoHo. The playful decor is wonderful - it's all about 'looking' - from the sex shop neon lights at the front, to the long catwalk-esque dining room, to the one-way mirrored bathrooms. Unfortunately, the food is not up to par with the decor. Peep serves decent, edible pan-Asian food, but when you have a sauce that obviously tastes like ketchup with Thai chili sauce, then you know where to set your standards...
