Not for special occasions!

Horrible experience! Service and management are very arrogant, incompetent and rude. Completely messed up a birthday dinner celebration of a special friend. Made us wait for Peking Duck forever and completely messed up birthday desert (after I specifically asked for it several times). And after we spent almost $500 for dinner for 2 people, they offered no resolution/compensation whatsoever. Never going back there again! I hate to complain, but this is totally unacceptable even for NYC. Money goes where it’s appreciated best!
Seriously, was that Chinese they served us?!!!

We were told that this is the best place to have Chinese food. We went with friends, I was disappointed that we invited them to this restaurant. The food is tasteless, the beef oyster sauce tastes like nothing, the chicken garlic sauce has no garlic (they put few thin slices of garlic, but the sauce has none), the crispy duck was less than average, the dumplings were BAD, no taste... and of course the price was tooooo expensive given that all dishes were left half full. The only good thing was the sorbet at the end which the waiter offered us as a courtesy. I will definitely never go back, in my own kitchen I can make better Chinese food.

Food was terrible velvet chicken was the nastiest thing ever. Service was ok, no where near worth the price of the food. Decor was mediocre felt like I was in a NY basement with slippery concrete floors. Bathroom extremely dark and cold with no hot water. Seattle has some of the best Asian food and that place could'nt stand up to our neighborhood fast food place I order from on friday nights. Oh my bill was 716 for 6 people OUTRAGEOUS!!
I would never ever go back to this place

The food was not good at all. $716 for about 5-6 plates no one in my party touched thier food. Staff was ok, but the food was awful. This place is overrated.
Top of my list!

I have been to Philippe many times and each time is an exciting & unique experience. The Chilean sea bass is my favorite as well as the delicious spicy shrimp ~ the waiters are extremely attentive and the noodle show is always fun to watch! I love the main dining room where you can see all the action but the upstairs dining room is quaint and very romantic. I would highly recommend it for any occasion or just a great dinner out with friends.
Marginal at best

Our reservation was not honored on time. In fact we waited more than 30 minutes for our table. The food left a lot to be desired. The scallion pancakes arrived cold and looked and tasted quite a bit like stale crackers. The spring rolls were greasy and unremarkable and main courses were gloppy and laden with cornstarch. All in all, the food was crappy and inauthentic and the staff curt and poorly informed.
