Not only is the food appealing, but so is the chef. Take a look at the April 2003 copy of Playgirl. Chef Villa is definately on my menu.

The roasted suckling pig is divine. The wine list is pretty good, but the markup can be pretty outrageous. The tile influence of Portugal can be found in the paintings throughout the restaurant.

I went there for lunch & the place could look a little intimidating but the staff was very friendly & attentive. Nice dishes & the pork dish was crispy & sinful! The dessert looked so fancy but tasted wonderful!

You have not lived until you've had the suckling pig at Pico. There is simply nothing else like it. We've been here twice; on our first visit my husband actually ordered 2 entrees, because he couldn't decide between the pig or the lamb. The lamb was succulent and wondrously spiced; the pig served with skin on and a glaze of honey... incredibly, melt-in-your-mouth tender. Accompanying crisp Portuguese potatoes I could eat all night. On our second visit 6 months later, our waiter remembered us ('the man who ordered 2 entrees!')and as before the service was superb. I had the roasted sardine appetizer- wonderful flavor, simply prepared. My husband ordered the 6 course tasting menu, starting off with steamed cockles and of course including the pig, this time served on a bed of spinach. I love everything about this place; the warm Mediterranean colors of the walls and lights... even the bathrooms are gorgeous! My favorite restaurant in Tribeca, if not the whole city.
